What film did you watch last night?

Justice League: Snyder Cut - 7.5/10 - First off I'm a big Snyder fan and a big Whedon fan so that may colour my opinion slightly. Secondly the runtime didn't ever feel that excessive, I only looked at my watch once (1hr 31mins) during a particularly "slow" part but this version of the film is, for me at least, by far the better version. Gone is all the MCU-lite comedy which never seemed to quite fit right, back is a serious film with serious scenes of loss, love, regret and hope etc plus the extra runtime really allows Snyder to flesh out some of the casts backstories which really helps some of the characters feel whole rather than as a simple side character in the Whedon version. This cut still suffers from dumb storylines, poor CGI in places and the usual "CGI-Fest Finale" complaints but overall I enjoyed it far more than the Whedon version and wished the DCEU hadn't been continually killed of by crappy films and WB's crap decisions.

Same here, loved the theatrical version but the directors cut was just "off" and I really didn't like it as much.
 
At least it no longer has the awful CGI moustache removal, or so I read as I haven't seen it yet. That's got to be worth a couple of extra review points on its own! :)

That's correct. All that tache footage was from the reshpots done by Whedon. So none of that is used at all, just the Snyder footage which was shot before it. .

I'm surprised I haven't noticed this one before.

In a nutshell, very good. I'm not normally one for westerns but this was definitely a bit different: atmospheric, well-acted, and on occasion very violent (disturbingly so).

That scene with Nick and the savages... absolutely horrific. And the sounds they made, it was almost as if they weren't human... I guess that's where the horror element comes in.

Watchable and much better than the theatrical version, but ultimately still has a wafer thin story and can’t get around that.

One of the better horror films I’ve seen recently and certainly on the more ominous / harrowing / bleak side with its tragic story. A couple of dated / goofy visuals lighten the mood a touch, as does the bizarre and jarring ‘pop rock’ credit crawl ending.

Also interesting to see that this is where South Park get their “old country man who warns people about danger” character from :D

I watched it recently and it's creepy. Especially the ending with the wife.
 
Wonder Women 1984

Not as good as the first one imo, still enjoyable mind 5/10

After think on it even more and speaking with Mrs as we watched it together I have to drop the score.

DC have really messed up in trying go do a marvel tbh.

First wonder women good, aquaman also good, everything else they have done is disappointing
