What film did you watch last night?

Shuttle. Incredibly disappointing in the way that only American films can be. Started so well, began to develop the theme... then descended rapidly into the most pathetic, brainless piece of nonsense you could possibly imagine. At the 60 minute mark I was shaking my fist at the screen, wishing I could reach in and bitchslap the entire cast.

COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

Outlander

Was fairly impressed by this, which in truth snuck up on me.

Enjoyed it quite a lot, imagine Beaowulf from space. It looks very good.

I intended to have a Lord of the Rings extended edition night tonight, all three films :o

I thought Outlander was good too. I felt sorry for the alien! (no spoilers!). LoR 9hr marathon - I've done that makes it even more absorbing.

Tonight it was Patriot Games.

16 Blocks.

Very good film except for ****ing Mos Def. I wanted him dead by the end of the film. I actually wondered if he had some sort of debilitating brain condition or something. :|

Road to Perdition

So what's the big fuss about this film then? Yes it's art direction was very good with it's dark cold theme, yes there was some good famous faces in it but it's pretty hollow underneath. A bland story with little character development from Hanks' character and some message about father-son relationships that got rather buried under body counts and bank robberies. Also didn't get any emotional attachment to any of the characters. It didn't inspire any feeling.

A missed oppertunity. With a more original and unpredictable story, and some more depth and emotion to the characters, it could have been good.
More style than substance.
