What film did you watch last night?

Piranha (3D) (2010) - 6/10

A classic creature feature complete with dodgy CGI, a simple plot and lots of teen booty.

Not much tension or suspense, but lots of underwater shots, female nudity, plenty of gore and a great cameo performance from Lloyd.

Light entertainment at its best and even a bit comical at times.

Ambulance - a solid "Michael Bay out of 10"

'splosions, ropey story, more 'splosions, little bit of 'Murica, F Yeah!" topped off with a car chase and more 'splosions.

Nissan GTR criminally underused.

FPV Drone pilot here, have been doing it for the past 5 years, I found the drone footage looked out of place personally, while it was good and I can certainly respect the pilots ability (Alex Vanover is an fpv god) it just didn't seem to fit with the rest of footage. Other than that film was ok, criminally under used A list actor.

It's got a few plot holes - what's the one in the first hour? Feel free to use spoiler tags.
About 1 hour 10mins in from the transition of the church to the police station. There is a high chance that someone within that timeframe from bringing the unconscious Batman from the church to the police station could have easily unmask him to reveal his identity (probably messing up the riddler plans) or just simply executed Batman as most of the higher up of the Gotham police are all in on it.

Alien Covenant - 7/10

I enjoyed this more than I did when it first came out. I think seeing it straight after Prometheus you can see the improvements over that film. There are less gaping plot holes and the people aren't quite so dumb. It's still missing something though.
I really enjoyed Prometheus. Watch the deleted scenes on YouTube, some of them should have been kept in. I really liked the story and how it went though to be honest, Covenant was also very enjoyable. Just a shame what they did with Shaw. There is a prologue to sort of show you what happened with David and Shaw:

Similar in disappointment what they did to Newt and Hicks with Alien3.
Regardless, really enjoyed them for what they were.

Just about to watch The Night House. Not really into horror as most are pretty crap nowadays but I'll give this a go.

Wow! I have never known anyone to like Prometheus!! I thought it was really disappointing! It could have been so good but was just rubbish.

All the Old Knives. Verrrry slow, despite being a short running film. Big plot twist in the last 2 mins makes you think you got a good deal but frankly it's a "never watch that ever again" type film.

Probably because nothing really happens for most of the movie but you just don't really care when the plot twist comes - though on paper it is one of the bigger twists to happen in movies. Quite interesting conceptually but the movie didn't really do the idea justice.
