What film did you watch last night?

The big problem with covenant is that it totally depends on moronic characters making utterly retarded decisions to progress the storyline. My eyes were rolling so much I could barely concentrate on the film.

That's just terrible writing in my opinion.

Really? Prometheus is full of that but I thought Covenant in general was much better in that aspect.

Yeah, in Prometheus, all the characters are meant to be experts in what they do and sent as a specific team to that planet. In Covenant, they're all colonists, with other duties during the flight so it's a bit more believable that they might eg panic and start shooting blindily around explosive cannisters etc.

I enjoy both for what they are, but Covenant at least addresses some of the issues of Prometheus.

Predator - 8/10 Still a Classic
Predator 2 - 7/10 Felt it had aged a little more than the original
Predators - 7.5/10 For some reason I forgot this one was actually quite good

I've never seen the most recent and only heard bad (and in some cases atrocious) things, wish me luck.

Almost Famous (extended edition ~40 minutes extra)
I've seen it before, but it's been a few years since I last watched it and it still holds up really well, I'm not normally into music related films but this is so enjoyable due to way it's being told and the characters/interactions, I'm about 45 minutes into the commentary and it's quite an interesting one pointing out so many of the details that I didn't consciously notice when watching but I suspect made a big difference subconsciously (the stuff in the background/locations that aren't as "photogenic" as they could be, but are real locations).

I'm probably going to try and watch either Last Night in Soho or Mandy once i've finished the commentary.

I've only ever watched Prometheus once and remember at the time thinking how ridiculous it was to portray people supposedly recruited to a very expensive mission as experts in their field, as being so painfully dumb. The biologist has no concept of the risk of infection/contamination when dealing with an alien life form, the cartographer gets lost...

Dr strange and the blah blah of blah mystery blah.2022

Predictable, marvel formula that's is really getting tiring. Elizabeth Olsens scarlet witch is so well done, she steals the feels.

Its not a bad film probably in the top half of Marvel films, and deffo one of the better phase 4 or whatever we are on now. Its so full of refrences and in universe details .. you really need to know your previous films and TV to keep up.

I'm tired of Marvel... Gotg3 next? Or Thor or ....

Thor: Love and Thunder is next and I'm pretty much expecting a full blown comedy.

Watched northman in cinema.

I really liked it. I absolutely love that time period in history. And what the film did was basically flesh out how I imagine it might have been.

No good characters, weird surreal rituals. Honour, glory, revenge. Dirty, messy, gruesome.

I don't usually like arty films but it was visually awesome.

What I didn't like.
There was barely any story/plot/twists
Dialogue was hard to understand sometimes.

A very different film than I usually would watch. I feel. I only loved it due to being really interested in that period of history and the TV shows not quite cutting it.
