What film did you watch last night?

I could kiss you!! I’ve been trying to remember the name of this film for a couple of days now. Was doing my absolute head in. Couldn’t remember enough specifics to get a decent Google search but did remember I really wanted to watch it again (I was a bit the worse for wear first time I saw it)
Glad I could help. It's on Amazon Prime.

Piqued my interest that has, going to give it a watch.
It really is worth watching.

Great movie, within 20 minutes you are invested in each character. I dunno I watch some old ones like this now and then and you realise how shallow the vast majority of modern movies are.

8/10.

Sadly nearly the entire cast have since passed away.
I think I remember watching this back when it was originally released (or... within a few years of release) and loved it. Is it on a streaming service?

Gray Man

Absolute tosh.

Evans character did nothing but annoy me throughout. Reminded me of the character he played in Scott Pilgrim.
The stupid drone cut scene bits were completely unnecessary and show off'y.
Very clichéd, the sunrise during the final fight scene....yawn.

The Gray Man

Not sure why everyone is slating this film so much. I personally found it quite watchable. Sure, it's not breaking any new ground, but it was an entertaining way to pass the best part of a couple of hours. I'm not much of a fan of Ryan Gosling, but I actually liked him in this film.

7/10

I would say the big stars probably got decent pay in the movie. Evans was a great douche bad guy, de armas was a good character and gosling was damn good. I think that massive shootout and chase cost big money as most of it looked practical.

I enjoyed it. Good action, good cast, decent story. 8-8.5/10 for me.
8.5 out of 10? That's like greatest movie ever territory. Captain America with a moustache disguise being a bit mean, Evans was awful. :p

The Grey Man - 5/10 - Adequate entertainment, not bad, not good, just OK. Both leads (Ana and Ryan) occasionally play off each other well, the stunt team did a good job and the location scouts played a blinder but the story is fairly boring and generic although, at times, it does perk up a little giving Evans, who looks like he's having an absolute blast as the psychotic bad man, some really good lines to chew the scenery with. Billy Bob and the child actresses both put in solid work but don't stand-out in any way and the random "celeb" assassins are fairly generic too.

The biggest "hmmm, that's just bad" moment for me is the two CIA staff (30y/o boss and female underling) who are horrifically underage for the roles, which I think should have been cast to 50+y/o actors but that my only real negative thought, the rest was just OK.

Continuing the monsterthon

Godzilla: King of Monsters - 8/10 Thought this just about skirted the line between entertaining and stupid. Once again the human stories actually managed to be surprisingly entertaining.
Godzilla vs Kong - 5/10 Oof. This completely missed what was enjoyable about the first two imo. Almost no character development for any of the characters at all. So many dumb macguffins to move the plot forward as well. The whole mechagodzilla thing was about the dumbest thing I've ever seen on screen too. I'd rather have a Kong or Godzilla solo film personally.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse yadadada - 5/10

One of the weaker Marvel films for me. I also found it unintentionally hilarious that one of the characters was called 'America'. Quite liked some of the more horror aspects of the film, but the pacing felt a little weird to me.

Come on now, it is pretty silly. Worlds hardest to kill man is up there in that flat. Lets stand in the street and shoot at him. Then he's handcuffed to a bench, lets spray bullets all around fairly randomly, kill loads of Police and hope a bullet hits our target.

Don't get me wrong, it's kinda fun, but I can easily see why people would give it a hard time. 5½/10 from me. (The Grey Man that is)

I just didn't think it was even remotely as bad as some of the posts suggested.
No me neither. I was just surprised you couldn't understand why people thought it wasn't great... (I feel like we've been here before :p)

I think being entertaining and being good can be two separate things.
