What film did you watch last night?

Enola Holmes 2 - 5/10

Not bad actually. Needed something family friendly whilst at my mums and it was a decent watch. Won’t change your life but was entertaining enough. Didn’t suffer too badly as sequels often do. They’ll probably make another.

The Deep House - 6/10

A couple who are YouTubers who go round visiting haunted/decayed buildings for their channel, decide to visit a sanatorium in France that is submerged in a lake. They eventually find it only to discover that they aren't alone... Well it starts out good and just doesn't provide any scares or do anything as discoveries are made half way through.

Slow build on this to...well, not a lot - shame as the premise and build up was really promising.

The lost king 6/10. Nothing special but a very enjoyable film to watch. Not sure how much of it is based on what really happened though as there is talk of a law suit regarding the university cutting out the main character who funded the majority of the dig and spearheaded the campaign etc.

Event Horizon.

I have seen it before, once, a long time ago.

I couldn't really remember much about it, I remember not being blown away though.

I normally like sci fi movies like this, Alien for example is a fantastic movie which is somewhat similar. But the whole alternate dimension/demon spawn horror theme ruined it, and it just got silly towards the end

3/10

it's a 10 out of 10 for me and I've seen it loads! I love demons though and the idea of alternative universe dimensions.

I used to watch it a lot on VHS.

Me and my wife watched it on blu-ray recently(ish) and I didn't think it held up amazingly. 6/10 now

Empire magazine reference it all the time in their podcasts, and recently did a whole 25 year anniversary retro spoiler special podcast about it, and interviewed Paul W.S. Anderson. Worth a listen.

Honestly, this is one of the best examples of sci-fi horror around in my opinion. Well, not quite up to alien/aliens but excellent all the same. Gets 7.5/10 for me.

Finished watching All Quiet on the Western Front.

Action-packed and horrific.

From an entertainment aspect, I enjoyed it quite a lot more the further it developed.

I thought the use of sound/music was very effective during the battle scenes.

I'd echo your score, it's a film i've always had on a pedestal since first seeing it at the cinema in my teens and noticed it was on Netflix a few weeks back, hasn't really aged well.

Fall, 2022 - great one! I also don't mind to watch live net tv from here from time to time and watch whatever is on offer at the moment. Sometimes they show pretty good old movies like Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump and similar. I am a little nostalgic for those movies, as i think that we had much more incredibly good ones in the past.
The last movie i really liked was Captain Fantastic from 2016 (probably)
