What film did you watch last night?

Glass Onion

Thought it was very poor and couldn't wait for it to be over.

The original was entertaining and had a universal appeal. The new one more narrowly targeted audience and the satirical elements just didn't work for me. Questionable morals at the end too.

3/10

In complete agreement, to be honest. Found it to be pretty crappy, as did my family who were either falling asleep or saying ‘I’m glad that was over’. Only Daniel Craig and Janelle Monae were any good. The original was much better.
Thought I’d be more generous and give it 5/10 as it looked nice and for the cameo from a certain English chap.

Amsterdam - 5/10
Great setting, sets, etc. and Christian Bale is always brilliant. Tried too hard to be quirky (trying to be like Wes Anderson) and meandered on for way too long.

Three Thousand Year of Longing - 7/10
I didn't really have any expectations going into this one but thought it was pretty entertaining. It's sort of a fantastical romance story.

Elvis - 7/10
Again, good sets, costumes, etc. trying to recreate the era. Enjoyed the story, not sure how "factual" it is but not sure that's the point anyway.

Yeah it's a pity they had to take what could have been a good IP for that nonsense. It was like opening an artisan chocolate box and discovering Reece's inside.

Where the Crawdads Sing - 6/10

Sort of an unusual murder / romance story about a reclusive woman. Features some of the worst CGI I’ve ever seen in the first few minutes with PS2 level physics. Thought it was entertaining and kept my interest.

Edit: From 1:30 on in this vid. Around 2:12 is the worst bit for me.
