I did a bit of cinema history yesterday, quite unintentionally I watched three films equally spread over 80 years, one from the 1930's one from the 70's and one from this year.
1930's was Charlie Chaplin in
Modern Times, I liked it but it was no where near as good as the Great Dictator which I watched a short while back. This was was almost a silent talkie, some superb moments but overall didn't really grab me. 3/5
1970's was
Star Wars with my sons, what can you say it was Star Wars! However, maybe I am getting old but some bits just seemed silly

. Obviously it is one of the major films of my youth and I sat there enjoying it with the next generation as they loved it too. My eldest pleased me by saying he liked IV, V and VI much more than I, II and III. so overall 5/5.
2010 I got dragged to see
Cats and Dogs - The Revenge of Kitty Galore. Garbage. Only slight redeeming feature was that Roger Moore voiced one of the spy cats. 1/5.
