What film did you watch last night?

Watched Låt Den Rätte Komma In [Let The Right One In] last night.

Not at all what I imagined - if you had to tell a 'dark fantasy' story in the style of a Sigur Ros music video, it'd end up being a lot like this.

That's quite a compliment, in case you're wondering.

Some beautiful scenes and imagery - and there was even one shot that gave me the creeps*, which doesn't happen often.

Definitely worth a watch :)


* The close-up of Eli's eye when she says to Oskar "Be me for a while...", if you've watched it already. Don't worry, that's not a spoiler!

Starship Troopers 3: Marauder.

caught it on some cable channel & out of a missplaced sense of adventure decided to watch it.

i didn't think it was possible to make a worse film than ST2 was but stuff me if they didn't go & pull it off with room to spare. appalling script, atrociously wooden acting, special effects that where anything but special, & Jolene Blalock ( Sub-Commander T'Pol from Enterprise ) & her incredible over inflated lips. injecting your mush with industrial quantaties of collagen is really not a good look to put it mildly.

highlights of the movie are as follows:

bouncing bomb bugs!
they got religion!
the incredible singing sky marshall!
the big bad boss bug!
battlefield prayer meeting!
mech suits!

anyhoo. 3/10. & i'm only giving those for the comedy value of watching Jolene Blalocks big rubbery lips flapping about the screen whenever she spoke.

awful awful movie, avoid like the plague!.
 
Went to see Couples Retreat last night. Gf's idea, not mine. Not bad, raise a few smirks. Instantly forgettable and not worth paying £17 in cinema tickets. Worth watching on telly for free.
