What film did you watch last night?

127 Hours.

I really enjoyed it, though the arm chopping wasn't as bad as people make it out to be...I think the worst part of it was where he *SPOILER* grabs his nerve, that **** looked painful.

Downloading Old Boy now :)

Hard Rain - I've always liked this since it came out so got it on Blu-Ray and loved it. Light hearted action with Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater. A simple plan. An instant fortune. Just add water.

Knight & Day - Cruise & Diaz.
7/10 - Not a bad mindless flick, always appreciate Cruise and his efforts, storyline has plenty of flaws but can easily look past that.

Last night X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Seen it before but thought I'd watch it again, the awful effects really let it down, that and having watched the cartoons and read the comics as a kid I know the story isn't true to the original material (not that that stopped the original X-Men films being awesome though)

I'd give it 6/10

Tonight I watched Iron Man 2

First time on blu ray for this one, awesome film, looking forward to Thor, Captain America and then the Avengers to carry on the story

9/10

Sherlock Holmes 8/10

I loved it and it kept me gripped all the way through. I fine most films with Robert Downey Jr in them good to watch and this was no exception. Thought the art direction was fantastic as well.

Wall E 10/10

One of my all time fave films. Never gets old, even after 7 viewings :p

Death Race 2 - 8/10

Thought it was going to be a disaster with no Jason Statham in it but it was actually quite good. Certainly a pleasant surprise.

The White Ribbon. It was dull, depressing and very strange but I really enjoyed it. Couldn't tell you why though.

The King's Speech

Pretty much as expected - a rousing British period drama which depicts overcoming adversity, with a few well placed comical scenes to keep the mood light. Great powerful acting & a well chosen cast portray the story with good pacing and an authentic setting throughout. A great movie, but a few minor niggles (Spall as Churchill, predictable plot) prevent the top score.

9 / 10

Raiders of the Lost Ark - recorded from BBC, watched it with my boys (it was a bot more graphic than I remember having not seen it for 20 years or so!). Anyway was enjoyable, obvoiusly, and gave the boys a chance to see someone they have known about for ages (thank you Lego Indy).

Was proud when the realised that he was Han Solo - I'll turn them into film geeks soon enough!

4/5

Will probably watch Temple Of Doom after it is on on Wednesday, can anyone remember if that is more or less suitable for young 'uns?

Less suitable probably.

Chilled monkey brains etc in the banquet, brain washed people, people being lowered into fire, torture & child slavery.

On the plane back from SA:

Megamind

Good stuff, better than Despicable Me at any rate.

7/10

Splice

LOL! I know it's not a comedy, but boy did it make me laugh like one. :D

5/10

Freakonomics

Have not read the books, but enjoyed the documentary regardless. Love the 50% of lowered crime in the 90s being attributed to legalised abortion and the CV + name findings.

7/10
