What film did you watch last night?

The Last King of Scotland
Revolves around the story of a Scottish doctor's time as the personal physician and close advisor to 70s Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. The book is better (as always) but it is still a great film. James McAvoy and Forrest Whittaker are both brilliant. Not exactly fun viewing in places but worth the time.
7/10.

Watched the new Pirates of the Caribbean last night in 3D. It was ok, not as good as the other three but still enjoyable. I thought that Blackbeard was a poor villain, he just didn't seem evil or badass enough. The ending was rushed and was quite poor as well.

My main gripe was the 3D, it really hurt my eyes in places. It took them about 45 minutes to relax and get used to it, but during some big action scenes when things were moving about fast it became quite uncomfortable. It wasn't just me either, all my friends found it the same and we overheard people outside after the film complaining about it.

Tell No One - Very good French (although based on an American novel by Harlan Coben) thriller about a doctor accused of the murder, eight years ago, of his wife who he is beginning to think is still alive. Reall enjoyed this and as a bonus it is available for free on iplayer (thanks Tummy!). 4/5

Watched 13 Assassins...pretty decent movie...8/10

Also watched The Dilemma which i thought was another decent movie...again 8/10 for that and finished off my night with Drive Angry which i found cheesy to say the least but pretty decent again...give that 7/10 really.

Got another movie night coming up tonight as well...want to go see the 3rd pirates of the carribean...gotta convince the missus to tag along.

Black Swan - Bloody amazing. I knew nothing about it and it was totally not what I expected. It was really tense and kept me gripped right up until the last minute. Very rarely does a movie pull me in like that.

10/10

Pitch Black

I shouldnt like this film but I just do for some reason, maybe its the sci fi setting.

The Chronicles Of Riddick

Practically a totally different film to Pitch Black, I like the Riddick character but it could have been so much better

I used they would do a prequel, maybe based at Butchers Bay like the game.

Wolf Creek.

As nasty and horrible a film as you could ever wish to see. I found it much more disturbing than Eden Lake which I watched last week.

The acting was superb - very natural.

7.5/10

Capone

1975 Gangster movie doing the rounds on Sky.

A good yarn but only if you like the genre. Poor compared to the likes of Goodfellas and Casino and the Godfather movies. I crave these type of films so i loved it. If anyone knows of more obscure similar movies dont keep them to yourself!
