What film did you watch last night?

The invention of lying.

SPOILERS DONT READ ON:

I didn't like how he didn't make smarter and more proper use of his discovery of lying, why on earth didn't he bang that woman at start ish when he said the world would end, why didn't he retreat a gazillion dollars and buy whatever he wants including a collection of hundreds of cars, planes, boats, etc ? Did he have to come up with that stupid ''god'' ( man in the sky) story? Why didn't he pay attention to what he said while others were near for example in the hospital when near his mother ? I was basically just facepalming the whole episode of his stupidity. 6/10 for the idea and I did laugh a few times at start, but after that, unrealistic actions and a main character I can barely relate to.

Halloween 2 (the rob zombie one)
It was okay but felt a bit too long. Nowhere near as good (imo) as his Halloween reworking.

Oy, what a pile. Ranks up there with Jingle all the way for the worst/scariest film... Then again I'm not a massive fan of the genre so it's subtle nuances and homages may have been wasted on me. :)

Tonight watched The Wrestler, happy to watch a Darren Aronofsky film with wanting to cry, barf or scream in frustration at the telly. Genuinely good piece of cinematography, with some warming and emotional scenes. Worth a watch.

The Abyss.

Loved the claustrophobic nature of the sets and the atmosphere of it. The acting and directing were generally good, but there were some cheesy 80s moments that you get in these sorts of films. The ending was a bit mental, but other than that it was pretty good.

Dances with Wolves, thought I'd watch it since it's now mentioned in Avatar reviews and such which I watched last week.

Bit long for my liking but quite emotional and well directed.

I watched that when I was 11 at school, thought it was quite sad how nobody believed him, though I can barely remember what happened in the film now.

Jaws
One of the best films ever made. The story, characters and directing are all first class and the special effects look fantastic for a film that's nearly 35 years old.

10/10 :D
