What film did you watch last night?

Rocky (the '76 original). Classic. Forgot how much of it is a love story and character building when compared to the overtly boxing sequels (which are also good - IV being my fav!).
Won an Oscar back in the day. The editing is rough as hell but adds to the charm.

Narc (2002) - Jason Patric and Ray Liotta star in a pretty boring cop thriller. Found this one when I was considering watching The Lost Boys and it reviewed pretty well on Rotten Tomatoes, but it just wasn't for me. Didn't hold my attention at all.
how very dare you.....that is a gem of a movie! I'll assume you got out of the wrong side of the bed the morning you wrote this so I will forgive you :p

Wrong year

Moonlight was the same year as La La Land.

Big Short was against Bridge of Spies, The Martian, Revenant, Room and Spotlight, which I think is what you meant.

Spotlight! Apologies for the confusion! The one with the journalists investigating the church and paedophiles. A good film, just not a patch on The Big Short.

Pixels.

Picked it up a while back from Poundland along with a few other Blu-rays. As somebody who grew up pumping God knows how much into all those arcade games and who actually has tattoos of a few it was a fun movie to waste a couple of hours on. Plus it stars Michelle Monaghan too, so there's that.

I watched Train to Busan after a mention from an author I liked and I loved it. Really tense, a "bad guy" you can really hate and avoided the worst of zombie tropes with a good ending. Would recommend it to anyone.

Then watched Arrival which I also enjoyed, without spoilers how they played with concept of time was really interesting and it was also quite a poignant ending.

Your tolerance of my failings as a viewer is much appreciated. :D

It just didn't grab me at all, and neither character had much depth or developed much of a relationship. I actually watched Rob the Mob the following evening and the story of that felt significantly more engaging.

I am very considerate person!

I actually really enjoyed NARC, admittedly it is quite a few years since I last watched it so perhaps the rose is strong on my tinted glasses! not sure if I take your admiration of Rob the Mob as positive but i'll tentatively stick in on my 'to watch list' ;)

I rate it as one of the worst marvel films.

Complete dross!
Any reason as to why? Out of all the marvel films If I was to rate my faves.

Its thor ragnarok, guardians of galaxy 1/2, iron man one (2,3 were abit poo imo), captain America, avengers 1.

I haven't seen latest avengers so I can't comment on that one

Admiration is far too strong a word, but as a "based on a true story" film at least I learned something. I'd rate maybe a good six or a seven? Never expect anything and you won't be disappointed!

yea just had a quick look at it and seems quite interesting, defo something I would give a watch too. so even though you taste in movies seems somewhat broken you may have partially redeemed yourself! lol

Took the plunge and saw Hans Solo.. I really enjoyed it.. then again, I'm very bias towards Star Wars anyway. It made me laugh that couple upon leaving made a comment where that all fits in.. I think they are missing the point of "A Star Wars story". :D
