What gigs have people got planned for this year then!?

I may decide to break my festival virginity in this year, though depends who I know goes where.

No idea who I'm going to see this year.

May go see The Subways in April, and try getting a Maximo Park Ticket for October off eBay.

And will likely go see my brothers band Apollomy every other week, they really are very good, though I'm a bit biased :p

I've got Red Hot Chili Peppers later in the year, but by far the best gig I've got lined up is on Tuesday. Going to see Dave Matthews play in London.

Seen:

The KOOKS - 31st Jan @ the social, Nottingham. They were amazing, and the lead singers voice was simply stunning. The social only holds a few hundred people, so it was very intense and the best gig so far this year.

Nine Black alps - last week @ Rock City, Notts. Quality stuff again, even though i only got into them about a month ago.

Coming up:

Imogen Heap - 6th April @ the social, Notts. I really got into immi after hearing her on the Oc, and now have all her albums. Sensational voice, and great trip hop beats. And with this gig @ the social again, i think she will rival the kooks as my fav!!!

Arctic Monkeys - 13th april@ Rock City, Notts. Q'd for 5 hours in the freezing cold for these tickets, but i can't wait to see them. Am trying not to listen to them too much, and stay away from the radio and music channels so i don't start to hate them. If i do, then they will go up on the bay for £200 :D :D :D

Seen: Fall Out Boy in Leeds, January. They're we're awesome.

Coming Up: Arctic Monkeys in Rotherham/Sheffield, April.

Also need to get some tickets for Panic! At The Disco, The Kooks and Fall Out Boy again.

Got my tickets for We are Scientists now in Manchester :)

Think I might go see the streets too.

So far this year:

Tuesday 31st January - The Strokes in Manchester
Saturday 4th February - NME Tour in Manchester
Tuesday 14th February - The Strokes in Blackpool
Saturday 25th February - Nine Black Alps (Didn't end up going :()

Planned:

Friday 7th April - We Are Scientists in Manchester
Sunday 23rd April - Arctic Monkeys in Blackpool (prob be crap :/)
Thursday 27th April - The Streets in Manchester (Probably, not bought tickets yet)
Saturday 29th April - Kaiser Chiefs in Leeds

Oh and probably V on a freebie, Leeds sounds like it's going to be pretty **** so far (saying that V doesn't look great! :o)

Busy busy busy! :D And expensive expensive expensive! :p

I went there about 10 years ago to see the Levellers.. . and yes it was a bit dodgy around there. Inside it was ok, the floor slopes down toward the stage so you get a decent view. It probabley seems dated now if you've been to the Manchester Academy and its anything like the one in Newcastle. Can't remember what the bar situation is like as I was driving that night...what a chore. What was I thinking driving a 300 mile round trip to go listen to some scruffy new age travellers.

Big Chris? i just got an email update

Nope. Though I'm talking to him about it now, seeing as we're both going :)

The content of an email I recieved tells me to keep schtum, even if it was meant jovially, tis the least I can do.

Due to Uni i've really got no time to go gallivanting off to gigs (final year), however i found out only yesterday that the Sonic Boom Six are playing here on the 6th April. Can't wait to see them live!

Tool on the 13th of June. Not a lot of gigs I go to this year will matter much other than that.

I did my best to email everyone who'd posted in the Tool threads lately, sorry I missed you out Sic.

Basically I just didn't want the link getting posted all over the net before Tool fans had a chance to get hold of them. AFAIK they'll go on general release tomorrow or Thursday.
