Woo shiny bits.
I have had the following arrive today:
Gearbox oil
Front drop links
Shock top mounts
Just waiting for B12 kit to arrive now![]()
Ahh, that's another thing, drop links. Might as well do those while the subframe is off

I've somehow only lost like £1.5K total on my cars, and about the same again on repairs. If I'd wasted that much money on cars while living at home I'd have been told to sort myself out or find somewhere else to live.

That's not too bad at all tbf, I've spent that getting my z4 the way I want haha. Mind you not all of it was fixing or refurbishing things.I've somehow only lost like £1.5K total on my cars, and about the same again on repairs.![]()

I'm not done yet either.
Think I'm headed the same way with mine! Front axle refreshed, but I believe the intermediate column is now knocking
That and cosmetic changes upcoming such as new steering wheel!
On a similar note, just ordered myself 8 spark plugs from Halfords for a grand total of £16 thanks to stock clearance... £2 a plug for the proper NGK plugs isn't bad at all!
Considering this is Acme we're talking about it's probably safe to say that's a severe underestimate and some major costs have been missed off.
... The guy seemed totally genuine.... there was a small rot hole.
By this point I was getting concerned about what else I might not have been told about, and today I found out... Yesterday I noticed a bit of smoke, dark, perhaps with a slight blueish tinge. I checked the oil level and it was off the dipstick in under 500 miles. It had used 2 litres. Today the smoke is worse.
...
Yep, he must have lost more than that on the Celica alone?
The MK2 was a nice example, it just had a £750 chassis rail repair looming over it as well as a few other little bits which I thought this one wouldn't suffer from. Should have kept it though yeah. I would reverse the deal in a heartbeat but hey ho, live and (hopefully) learn.![]()
So the cash you put into the mk1 you could have put I to the mk2 and had a very solid car.
