What have you done to your car today?

Collected the MPS.

Intake pipe was loose and missing a clamp according to the repair man..
They fixed that and replaced the MAF sensor.
Seems all rite now

how are you finding it compared to your dmps(diesel mps)
Well if I'm honest... Doesn't feel as fast. I put that down to the lack or torque.
Sound very nice from its front and the rear.

Other than suspension being old and in need of a refresh, it's much the same.

I'm pleased with it.
When I have fitted the B12 kit that's taking an age to arrive... It should feel just like the Diesel did too.

Still getting used to driving a petrol, not been in one for a long while.

Washed my car, and replaced the Volvo emblem on the front. Old one had a weird bubble and white bit in the centre. Although I think I must have kerb my alloy in the past few weeks...found a scuff...boooooo

Cleaned out the PCV valve and related breather pipes on the Eunos, replaced a couple of pipes with steel over-braided rubber hose because the originals were brittle, put the original air box with paper filter back on, and went for a long drive. No noticeable drop in oil level, no blueness to the smoke anymore. Continuing to keep an eye on it... I'm hoping the valve was just a bit gummed up and it was sucking oil through.

Its being picked up by a mate in a minute so he can fit the replacement Mazdaspeed shock absorber to hopefully stop the rubbing as well as generally improve its safety and handling... (needs spring compressor etc)

I used a spring compressor for the first time the other week, really isn't as bad as people make out. Use two, tighten one a turn, tighten the other a turn, keep going until the spring is slack, undo top bolt, put spring on new one, put on top bolt, undo each compressor a turn at a time. Simples.

Honestly... start doing stuff yourself.

Porsche - put redex injector cleaner in because there was something not quite right how it felt on idle - like hunting and something amiss. Idles perfectly now!
Also found the slight issue with the bumper being loose if you push n it - a mounting bolt has come through because the washer has gone so just needs replacing. Also figured out why the roof won't shut right (convertible). It shuts fine but on one area its as though a cable is slack because it doesn't quite pull right. I found the broken cable end, put it back in (albeit loosely and needs chemical metal back in) and it seems to work fine.
This on top of a few other things like I had to take out the brake switch above the pedal, pull the plunger out and replace because the brake lights were rstuck on.
Focus - put some fuel in. lol

Just tried to change gearbox oil...
Failed.
I have every size socket 5-30.. but no size 24.

Oh well.

Oh and the Error code came back for the MAF, seems new MAF and pipe repair didn't fix it.
Have a feeling its the crap K&N panel filter messing with the air flow dynamics, so I swapped it out for an OEM MAN filter. Will see how it goes.

The replacement shock I got sent for the MX5 was a front one (sold to me as a rear one) and the people I got to fit it didn't notice it was physically totally different, not to mention about 9cm longer, until after they had fitted it...

Currently there is a bit of a disagreement between us as to who is to blame. Their argument is "you supplied the part" my argument is basically "if you had an ounce of common sense you wouldn't have fitted it when you saw it was massively longer than the one on the other side, and the one it was replacing, and you would have phoned me!"

Look at the massive difference! How can you not notice something is wrong until its completely fitted to the car and you see that it appears the car has been put on stilts?

Look at this FFS!
