What have you done to your car today?

They are and I hate them. I've thought about doing an engine conversion to something with a proper ECU and individual coils to do away with the annoyance that is a dizzy but it's hassle and cost so for now this stays.

Found out the Corolla will do 145MPH indicated (on a private road of course)
And that new S3's really are very fast indeed. Guy made me look like I was going backwards! :)

Prior to this, I had driven 200 miles, including about 2 hours of M25 traffic, and all other driving at 60MPH for economy. Managed 39MPG up until the traffic, after which it went down to 36MPG. Roughly 5MPG more than before I had the winter tyres changed for Michelins, had the tracking done, and had two wheel bearings replaced. I think the rolling resistance of those tyres was mostly to blame.

what did you do with it? mine is quite shinny, I'd like to freshen up the leather.

Start with a clean damp cloth give it a very light wipe just to remove surface soiling. Then use autoglym leather cleaner and really work it in with a cloth or sponge. Leave it for a couple of minutes. Then back to a clean damp one to wipe off remove the majority of the crud. Make sure you keep rotating to prevent rubbing more dirt in. Then a wipe down with a dry cloth to remove the lint!

thanks, going to give it a go and see if it removes the gloss :)

Topped the oil up on the Zafira for second time in a month :(

Can't see any obvious leaks, none in the coolant, and no smoke from exhaust so not sure where it's going.

Have left a big sheet of plastic underneath overnight so will see in the morning.

10 plate 1.6 (z16xer I think?) if anyone has any ideas.

I tried the LC:

The road was greasy too and I forgot to full disable TC, but it just hooked up. :D
I am amazed by how quick this little hatch is, its the ultimate sleeper car. :D

Any plastic trays underneath? Don't forget to remove them! Checked the exhaust when the car is fully warm?

Btw, petrol or diesel? If petrol pull the plugs and see if there's any crud on any of them

Petrol - although off top of my head, have no idea where the plugs even are :D

Have just found another test to try - need to pull dipstick or oil filler cap when running, apparently if there is a vacuum then it means the crankcase breather is knackered - although it's not a separate item and needs the whole of the cam cover replacing.

Will feed back tomorrow.

I had the exact same problem, everytime I went on a long journey the low oil light would turn on, I would top up and then a few days later it would come on again. I was due an oil change so decided to get it serviced since then my oil level has been spot on never had to top up.
