What have you done to your car today?

@grudas looks much better! Pleased with how the leather has turned out?
I always think spending time on the wheel is worth it. It gets a lot of wear and tear from handling and it's massively visible as it's literally in front of your face.

yeah, as you can see it was pretty shiny/greasy. Very happy with results, nice to have a fresh looking wheel.

What did you use on I, just elbow grease to get the matte lustre back?

AG leather cleaner and a lot of elbow grease with a MF cloth.. took a lot of dirt out with cleaner alone, the cloth was black!

then just went over it with AG leather balm(bought as a pack a while ago so had both) and then some general interior cleaner to sort the spokes etc out.

don't wanna touch it now haha.

Looks great, but is using the AG leather stuff a good idea on the wheel? It makes my seats very slippery, I would have thought it best to keep it away from any control surfaces.

Not so much what I did, but battery was flat when I got back to the station this evening. Start Rescue were pretty good and had a guy out within an hour. Pity (though good that it's not more complex/expensive) that all it required was 15s with a jump pack.

Now bought a lithium jump start that I can leave in the car as it's lightweight, and will be replacing the battery (2nd time it's gone flat in last two months or so, despite seriously charging it last time).

Can't say that I've noticed any difference, drove in today in the Z4 and it was fine. I know what you mean about the seats but steering wheel feels fine from my pov. :)

Lol, @Acme look harder :D the goal was to remove the greasyness/restore the leather to that original which the cleaner has done, it's back to looking fresh. The first pic with the wheel off you can see how shiny it is.

Are you neutralizing it and removing it afterwards?

I follow the instructions for the care balm which, IIRC, is just massage in and then buff off with a clean cloth. The seats are quite slippery for a few days after - not a problem, makes it easier to get in and out of the car if anything, I just thought that it might have the same effect on the wheel. I tend to avoid using any sort of "product" on the wheel, gear stick or handbrake lever just in case it has the same effect, I just give them a good wipe with a clean, damp cloth or maybe some all purpose cleaner.

I have audio again!

Long story short, my voltage regulator stopped regulating and when driving enthusiastically, ended up letting a surge of over 18 volts through the car according to the DSC fault codes.

In short, the power inverter in the amplifier didn't take too kindly to this and fried itself, so sent off for repair.

All good now, and after nearly a month of having no music it's so good to have it back!
