What have you done to your car today?

Both cars keyed in under a month, fairly sure I know who’s doing it but I can’t prove it. Very glad we’re moving to a place with a driveway soon, but still massively annoyed as the paint on my Audi was pretty much mint before this.

Ah mate, I know that feeling :/

This is the damage someone did to my car a few months ago. Cost me a fair bit to put right too.

Well, so much for not spending any money on my cheap runaround. Saw these, always like them on the B6, always thought they were the perfect wheel for it, so couldn't resist.

Got quote from 2 Volvo dealer for Polestar tune, Worcester dealer £835 and Gloucester dealer £910.

Hmmmmmmm
What sort of numbers are they quoting for your C30?

My Dad got them to include it in the deal for his V90, it only gives a couple of hp but more midrange oomph which is definitely noticeable. It is a lot of money for what is basically a warrantied remap though.

It’s quoted from 227 to 250BHP and 236 to 279Nm torque but judging from people who have dyno it, it’s more like 275 BHP and 300Nm torque.

It’s not small numbers, almost 20% rise in power with no hit to economy and no physical mods required.

Not all of them were 99 or 98, not that a few fills of normal super would be an issue. Can't imagine you'd need absolute performance potential on the NC500 route at all times.

It would.

Seen plenty of info about the trip but cannot find if the stations sell 99. Mapped on momentum 99 + meth so could ideally do with Tesco 99 or V-Power at least.... Hence why I asked here.

Mapped for 99? So Vpower or Momentum only. You won't find either for a lot of the route. Normal super only, so 97. Probably not the kind of car you want to take on such routes in that case.... Tuners not welcome der!

Get the car mapped to suit 97ron.

If mapped you may loose a couple of bhp, but then it's safe as houses to use 97ron.

I have a 97ron map for my car, good for ever I am in need and have to use the cheapest super

2ron will not loose 40-50bhp imo.

Perfectly safe to have a car mapped to 97ron with Meth.

I'm not a tuner though, and am going off information I have read online.
He could have it mapped for 97+Meth but it isn't.

99RON + 20% meth to 97RON isn't a 2 point difference. A meth + super mix is 102%.

It also isn't just the octane difference that gives such big gains doing so, there's a 4% difference in energy density, the octane difference and the higher latent heat of vaporisation that methanol offers means more cylinder cooling

So they've fixed my CLK. It was the cam shaft adjuster magnets... but still a £500 job, although that does include an oil change too.

In the meantime, I've been driving around in this since yesterday and I do like it a lot. They originally said they had to order the parts in from Germany and that'd be next week by the time they'd fixed it so I was hoping to have it a bit longer. It's a C220d AMG Line. Unfortunately it does sound quite like a tractor and isn't that economical... or maybe that's my driving. Got about 38mpg on my commute.

That's a nice looking car :)

Unfortunately, I've identified where my water leak on my car is coming from - it's my water pump. So I'm going to buy a new water pump, drive belt and coolant. Glad it wasn't my head gasket, I had to do the head gasket myself when I had to fish out bits of spark plug from the engine because I couldn't afford to take it to a garage, three weekends that took and I'm reluctant to do another head gasket replacement some 6 months later!
