What have I done today? Used my lunch hour at work to investigate why I have a damp footwell and steaming up windows.

This is why:

It isn't coolant (thank god) as it just tastes like water, so thankfully it appears to just be an AC condensation drain issue rather than heater matrix.

I'll have a fiddle with the drain tube tonight and see what's what.

I'd say you're on the money with that guess, looks too clean to be coolant or screenwash etc

Girlfriend had this on her car and turned out that the AC condensation drain pipe in the engine bay was blocked!
