What have you done to your car today?

Cleaned the interior of the pickup. Felt lined a load of panels in the mustang. Two annoying rattles in there so hope I've got them.

Had a Mountune GPF back exhaust and short shift arm fitted today at their HQ. Exhaust sounds tasteful, not too loud when in normal mode and only makes a racket when you want it to. Short shifter was only supposed to be a 20% reduction but it feels completely night and day, so much fun moving up the gears now.

Actually attached the left intake properly :o previous owner had fitted aftermarket intakes and not used the right orientation on the silicone hoses to allow the filter to sit correctly and connect flush to the rest of the stock intake. Jubilee clip wasn't even in the right place! Causing it to rub on the underside of the CF brace and probably suck in some dirty air too.

Realised the bonnet stop had also perished and needs replacing which explains a little of the misalignment along the front with the wings.

Replaced the OEM arch protection with some PPF coming up a little higher.

Took advantage of my in-laws' pressure washer to rinse off the Saharan dust so I can clean it properly. Not as magic as I hoped! There's displaced silt and crud on the car instead now :D

Took my Personalised plates of in readiness for selling or trading in the Focus.

Front plate took 30 seconds to swap...
Rear plate an hour and a half due to the rivnut thing turning with one of the screws, so ended up drilling it out (broke a drill bit and seemingly lost another somewhere), then superglued the rivnut so it wouldn't turn, before finally managing to refit the original plate.

Next time I'll be using the sticky strips and be done with it :D

A few Quality of Life tweaks to the Citroen C1 "Yappy"!

1. Swapped the crazed/broken rear view mirror for a cheap eBay one. It feels cheap and nasty, especially the Dip lever, but it works - 5 minute to replace.
2. Bluetooth to Aux 3.5mm jack for phone audio/music (inc calls) over the stereos Aux port. Love the idea, the unit itself is very small (AA battery sized) so the battery needs to be constant charging from a USB in the lighter socket so I might get a better version but the idea is great.
3. Replaced the paper OEM speakers (both bust) with JVC 420X 10cm speakers. Pretty much direct fit, needed wiring adaptors for the plugs but easily enough done all within 20 minutes. The new speakers have got separate tweeters & a mid-bass cone so the quality of the music is much clearer/nicer.

I'm enjoying "cheap" motoring again I suppose. I mean 4 new tyres and a full tank of petrol for the C1 is cheaper than 1 tyre of the RS6, and new brake disc/drums & pads/shoes on all corners of the C1 is cheaper than just the rear pads on the Audi too :D

Randomly decided to change the headlight bulbs... were still working OK though I've not been overly convinced by them - one looks like it was still on the original bulb the other was some cheap **** and looked like:

:(

Had also been bodged in with someone being really lazy and bending stuff rather than do it properly........ granted it was a pain in the rear job involving not enough space, stuff taking force to separate with little room to manoeuvre and just badly designed in general - what should have been a 2 second job each was 5 minutes of cursing - why is there so much stupid in this world :s

Got the window regulator on the Lincoln fixed, and changed the wipers, then hired someone to help me with the 1k Range Rover. First order of business was to find out if the horrible sound from the engine was from the engine itself or the supercharger. We decided to run the engine with the supercharger belt removed, and the noise immediately disappeared, so we set to work taking apart the supercharger.

Going to send it off to get rebuilt. The cost of that, plus the labour, plus new coils and plugs all round should be around 1k as well. Then another 1k on the suspension and a few other minor things and I should have a pretty decent car for 3k all in.
