What have you done to your car today?

Tried removing poorly applied spoiler on the 135i as gently as I could.

Clearly, I wasn’t gentle enough, or something else has happened, as there are now lines on the paint from adhesive strips :(

Don’t think a machine polish would sort it, might need a respray :(

Sad to see that, but give it a light wet sand and a machine polish first.
If it may need a repaint anyway, you have nothing to lose, and you might be pleasantly surprised. :)

Serviced the Fiesta(2014 ST3) yesterday; only coolant change and oil/oil filter so nothing major. It had a very quick clean last week for the first time in a while and looked stunning <3 I think it deserves a detail at some point in the near future seeing as I'm keeping it for another few years!

Trying to source some 2nd hand Bilstein Lowering springs, spacers and an induction kit, too.

PlusGas or PBblaster ?
last plusgas I bought didn't have a long spray tube, (just small spray paint type nozzle) so it was difficult to apply to the bolts I wanted to remove,
without getting it on my hands, wasting product - is that typical ?
tried transplanting from other spray cans but nothing fitted.

e: forgot
which are your favourite nitrile gloves ? , the blue thin ones I have tear too easily so heavier duty nitrile orange with rough surface look like the way to go.

was looking at these,
Grippaz Semi-Disposable, Orange Fish Scale Grip Nitrile Gloves, Pack of 50.

A blow torch of some description is far better than any of that rubbish. Automatic transmission fluid even better in a can where you cannot use heat.

My windscreen has come unbonded somewhat, typical Volvo thing.

Any ideas who can fix this back in place?

Otherwise I’ll probably end up putting a hammer through it and getting one on insurance.

@Frozennova I seem to recall you used to work with windscreens.

I got it done by National Windscreen for my C30.

It was like £120 to reseal or £160 for a completely new one in case it was smashed when they took it off. Cheaper than i expect. This was right at the start of the pandemic, prices may have risen since.

If you have water ingress from it, check under the floor.

Excellent, I’ll give them a bell, thanks.

Spoke to Autoglass, they wouldn’t reseal and a new windscreen without insurance was over £1000… lol!

No water ingress, yet.

At the time I had a massive leak from it and was in the garage for a week from being stripped down to dry and i sent them over there to fit. I wasn't even there that day, paid over the phone after and that was 2 years ago now.

You will know if there is water inside, I started getting condensation inside the windows every time I went to drive it, one night the temperature dropped and i had ice inside the car.

That's times gone for me now. I've been in Development in the Remapping tuning world Since 2018

Wasn't something we would do without a replacement back then though, but I did replace a decent amount on a few different makes/models that were known to have a poor bond from original fitment under insurance coverage

I changed the battery of my car. Spent more time finding the right battery than actually changing the battery :)
Surely no more difficult than putting your registration into Eurocarparts, and verifying that the results (cca, Ah and physical dimensions) are comparable to whatever you currently have fitted?

So naive :p

I did that once, battery had a clamp lip around the base that the battery box wouldnt allow the battery to drop into as the clamp was a strap across the top and the terminals were the skinny jap posts rather than Euro

They won’t reseal, only replace.

I’ll get it replaced under insurance and have a hammer ready incase they need a broken windscreen.
