What have you done to your car today?

Put the L322 in with my local backstreet mechanic for the yearly service / check up, £150 for a new CV joint and the oil change and that was it.

In less positive news, I took one of the Rolls to another mechanic as he had a proper lift and I wanted him to check a few things before I sold it, so far he seems to have done absolutely nothing, despite having had it for almost a month

Expensive week, with more expense to come as front track rod ends and tie rods have seized beyond persuasion  so front alignment not possible. The rears are at maximum adjustment though and are just within the green luckily.

New front discs fitted (Stoptech Sport), new shocks, new OEM calipers, new pads (PFC Z Rated), new OEM hoses and fresh fluid (ATE Typ200).

And then...

Ceramic coated it after a much needed wash after ~2 months:

Rejuvenated the leather and cabin, smells so good:

Pumped a bit:

Torqued a bit:

Fitted a new alloy intercooler on my Saab as last summer it was suffering from heatsoak. (Stage 1 mapped) Haven't got any pictures of the new one fitted but went in okay. A little bit tight trying to get it on the mounts as it is slightly thicker. Gave me a chance to blow out the radiator and give that a clean up too.

Good job I did it as the bottom had ballooned out. Cannot of been long before it was going to pop.

Pulled the centre console out to change the handbrake cover as the one on the car was covered in scratches, I think the last owner was wolverine. Also tweaked the amp interface for the head unit, I managed to set the front right speaker miles too low. Wrapped the cabling in harness tape to stop it rattling.

Handbrake and gear lever gators are new, wheel will be retrimmed soon hopefully and that'll be the interior sorted.

That's a good reminder, thanks. I need to get mine checked before it gets too hot.
How much did yours cost?
£74 from local fast fit place (Bush Tyres), but have used them for various things over the years and always had good service. Could likely have shopped around and got it a bit cheaper - but rang up and was able to get it done within the hour :)

Starter motor on my Alphard packed in while I was in Scotland last week. Recovery guy came and smacked it with a wrench and got it going. Ordered a new one to get delivered to my folks house.

Spent the week popping the bonnet in car parks and smacking it with an old lawnmower blade before it would start, got some laughs!

Easy job to swap the starter when it arrived though, all sorted.

Had the air con regassed on the Mini - nice and cold now. Likely hadn't been done since new - as was down to around 20g of refrigerant (should be around 400g!)
Out of interest... How long would you say it'll last from new? Factory new.... best case scenario?

Mines a 2016 car and I don't think it's been regassed. I've had it 4yrs.
