What have you done to your car today?

I did use a hex head socket but not with my impact driver, I guess the screw was just too badly corroded to make purchase. The other side was fine though, go figure! What was a pain was the Febi Bilstien discs that I bought didn't come with the replacement screw .

I haven't failed to get one out since I got my impact wrench a few years ago, even absolutely crusty ones. The benefit with the impact gun is that you can just put all your weight forward and concentrate on keeping the bit square, then all you need to do is squeeze the trigger to shock it and give massive torque. If you use a manual ratchet wrench, it's so difficult to keep the bit completely square if you have to use some force, and this is when the allen head gets chewed up. I normally set my impact wrench to the minimum torque and just let the shocks get it loose and it's normally out within 2-3 seconds. If I ever do round one, the easiest way to fix it is to just get a Torx bit and a lump hammer and hammer it in to the mushed up allen bolt. Then, impact wrench it out.

Changed the exhaust on my 360 back to standard ready for the car to be partex'd.... a little daunting working on it mainly because of the value of stuff if I scratch it accidentally but it's just like any other car really :)

Is there just one central jack under that ? .. maybe you just needed to reach under the car from the edges

Axle stands on jacking points on each side - I know someone who left behind a wife and kids after a Jack failed and he was crushed by his car & sadly passed away. It’s just not worth the time saved not putting axle stands in if you’re going to be under it.

Exhaust is doable with rear bumper on but incredibly fiddly and the stock exhaust backbox is huge

Can imagine the neighbours faces watching you just casually working away on a Ferrari on your drive.

I’m not sure it’s the typical Ferrari ownership experience if I’m honest! :D

rear trailing arm bush - 3series failed attempt -

bush carrier unbolted but doesn't/didn't descend far enough to clear sills and arches to enable unbolting the trailing arm and (the tough bit) extracting the bush
nightmare trying to re-bolt the carrier too, since needed lots of leverage (steel bar off of the top of another axle stand) fighting the suspension spring
(maybe raising the whole rear of the car and removing spring whilst carrier is re-bolted is the effective strategy)
on the good side bolts are now all prepped and cleaned for the garages attempt, with proper lift as opposed to contorting under car
thought I was going to have to ring the garage to collect the car with the carrier unbolted & undriveable.
missed most of the coronation, rain held off in Cambs until 1 though.

My centre caps were corroded so I replaced them with the full colour version (cost me £100 brand new from a forum, it's a £150 option when you buy the car new). Bit surprised at the amount of corrosion after 2 years, but maybe the previous owner took the car somewhere where they use a lot of acid wheel cleaner. I won't be!

Our trucks at work are similar. They get cleaned by contract cleaners and the interior plastics are ruined on a lot of cabs because they use what I presume is an acidic cleaner. Some are only a couple of years old.

A lot of people are using all these fandangle chemicals thanks to Tiktok etc and don't realise just how much they are damaging their cars.

I thought you have a massive dent in the bumper for a minute.

Fixed my droopy vents in the Mini.

Turned vents to their extreme left/right/up, and then stuck a tiny slither of felt tape as far in as I could. Seems to work so far.

The CR-V lives!
So, bad slave cylinder but replacing that wasn’t the end of it. The return spring had failed in the master cylinder which meant that when there was pressure in the system, it worked fine. Take the pressure away such as when bleeding it and it no longer worked. Swapped that out and we’re golden.
