What have you done to your car today?

Try South West Wheel Repairs in Marsh Barton, did a very good job on mine and others I know.

I've actually used them twice before - my dad has used them at least 3 times too and they definitely do a great job. Only downside is they charge more if you leave the car with them rather than just dropping off the wheels and they don't have a courtesy car. I could work around that if it was done in a day but it's a bit of a pain practicality wise getting to work.

If I'm not doing a colour change id get away with only doing 2 which are peeling, the other 2 just have a small kerb mark on each - I suppose they could do one at a time with the spare wheel that way.

Today I twice snuck up slowly on a new menace in our local villages and then floored it - this new menace is the "community speed watch". A brigade of geriatric do-gooders in hi-vis jackets that threaten to have an MI if you get close to the speed limit.

I look forward to their strongly worded letters of discontent.

Watch out for these elite road policing officers near you:

When I contacted our council about having traffic calming measure along our very busy street, the community speed gun thing was the 1st part in the process.
If enough people are seen to be speeding it will be upgraded to a real copper. then speed bumps or whatever

Interesting to know. Also would interesting to know if at any point someone asked "I wonder if we have the speed limit too low on that road?"

Speedbumps on the run in to my little estate have a very harsh, concave ramp which makes it absolutely impossible to clear in anything lower than your average boggo family hatch at speeds over 5mph. Fine(ish)....if they weren't every 50 yards or so

Give me the old duffers any day

I used to creep up to them on the bike then revs the nuts off it as I got passed, you've never seen them swing that radar around so quickly to realize you aren't going any quicker :D

I've seen those community speed gun things once before, once I realised it wasn't actual police I quite immaturely dropped a gear and floored it, hit the limited and popped a flame for good measure :D

Fitted my new front brakes, it was actually quite an easy job. I was expecting at least one bolt to be seized up, but nope!

On an unrelated note, I pulled out of a side road into a HUUUUGE gap earlier, I was in second gear and already rolling when I pulled out, and I floored it. Absolutely bugger all happened, and I had to drop it into first and floor it, by which time the person behind me had caught up and flashed his lights at me.

Jesus... I mean I know it was my fault, I should know the limitations of my car, but occasionally things like that happen and I just think "Oh for **** sake... MOVE!"

It was a 30MPH road...

Help...

You aren't driving within the limitations of the car, you know full well how much power your car has, wait for a bigger gap lol

Or do as the Americans do, pull out, make the person behind slow down and don't have a care in the world.

Nothing, taking it to the track on Sunday and was going to do the z32 rear brake conversion but the wrong discs were delivered. Ended going to the local factors but thanks to the holiday weekend they won't be here until Tuesday. Annoying, ebay car parts = disappointment.

washed it then clayed then went over it with the da and some g1 nano polish.

2 hours later went out to wipe the bird crap off.

now sitting here stroking the shotgun weighing up the cost of revenge versus discharging a firearm in public.
