What have you done to your car today?

Serviced the Range Rover.

Cabin filters, engine filter + oil, spark plugs, transmission filter + oil and a MAF.

Still got the discs and pads to do though.

Just did a few changes to another mates E46 M3. I did the same changes to a different buddies car last week during our trip to the Ring - he was impressed so this mate wants his one flashed.

CSL Warm Up lights
Shift Lights
Sports Button Memory
Speed Limiter Removal (This came in handy last week)

Just need to send him over the file so he can flash it to the car. Also need to figure out why my NCS Expert won't work - I couldn't enable M-Track mode due to some weird error in German - job for another day though.

Interesting, does yours retain the AC memory when you start the car?

I tend to leave mine as is in my 330, in the morning the display comes on and sits at its lowest setting but it doesn't feel like it's actually blowing any air out, once it's a little warmer, the fans ramp up but the car does take noticeably longer to get its coolant up to temperature - though I'm not sure if it's just displaying that on the guage as it's dampened to sit in the middle temp ranges.

My AC definitely doesn't remember what it was set to, it's always off when I get in the car.

It remembers yes, it should remember unless a previous owner has been fiddling with it or disabling memory via coding or something else. All 3 previous E46s have remembered too!

The vents won't open up on the vents on cold mornings until the car is sufficiently warmed up and they're actually in need of being open.

Coolant should warm up very quickly. My car starts to open the vents and blow warm within 1 minute and this is exactly the moment the coolant water temp reaches the end of the blue part of the dial.

Edit*
I'd like to enable the shift lights, serves no use other than looking pretty. Sports button is bunk, I never turn it on as it's a useless button and mode :p

Haha, I am going to have to check what its set too now :D

It's set to 21, it's 20.5 in that photo as I was using the other key which I rarely use and thus still has the previous owners climate temp setting :p

It's actually rather easy Mrk, I can guide you through it if you would like to do it (you'll need the cable and a laptop). The CSL style warm up lights are good too, the standard setup turns the lights off at 60deg C, whereas the oil isn't actually proper temp until it's at 80deg.

You can actually set the throttle position values for the sport and 'comfort' modes too, I noticed the throttle response is super sharp in Sport mode on my mates M3 CS - must be annoying in traffic.

I'm sure I've seen the same dials as mine in a Mk5 Golf with "climatronic" printed underneath.....Might have been "climatic"..

It's Climatic - my Fabia has the same system, sometimes referred to as Semi-Automatic Air Conditioning. I like it - keeps the car at a relatively stable temperature.

Climatronic was the full climate system with loads of buttons and a screen. All a bit fiddly IMO.

Just the shift lights and CSL warm-up would be awesome I reckon thanks!

The temp control in the fiesta seems to be a half baked implementation of climate too. I thought it was great that such a small car had some form of climate control, but in practice it can't deal with variations in temperature outside so ends up blasting cold or warm air at the wrong times.

It also permanently runs the fan at full pelt, which is even more annoying than the slight noise of the clutch kicking in on the Civics system (which other than being a bit featureless actually holds the temp perfectly in all conditions)

I change the climate temp in my car regularly. I'm sure it will hold a steady temp but you know maybe some days I feel colder or warmer than others.

Anyway, that's boring. Done some miles with the new config in the LSD now, loving it, really good traction, nicely progressive, much better handling now, I hate the car much less now.

Should be easy as pie, do you have an OBD cable that works with INPA/GT1?

Drop me a trust if so and I'll walk you through it (or make the changes and send you the file to flash if you cba) :-)

Excellent cheers, have messaged :)

Another day another loan car...640d GC pretty much standard spec, can't be bothered to post yet another pic of yet another loan car...this has been in terms of ownership the worst 12 months I've experienced as its a year this weekend since I bought the M235i.

I had a nasty rip in the rear window of my Miata which i temporally fixed with duct tape. I finally got around to replacing the screen with with a DIY PVC replacement.

I need to tidy up the edge a bit with a proper blade and backing board and then find a way to hide the edge where the adhesive dried white. But its a massive improvement on the dull, aged plastic screen that was there before.

I forget that in the UK people don't often refer to it as a Miata.

Its the same thing anyway, as is an enous roadster. In my circles is more commonly refereed to as a miata and pretty well known as such. imo it's a more affectionate name and better suits the car.
