What have you done to your car today?

Had the air con recharged on Friday at ATS Euromasters.

Before it was done I ensured to ask them to check there isn't a leak or anything, which I thought they all had to do as otherwise the machine moans about pressure?

Anyway, all well and good Friday and Saturday morning, but has been warm again since Saturday afternoon.

Am I right in thinking that if there's a leak they should have spotted in and therefore not charged me/not recharged? Could there be a leak that they couldn't detect? Or could they have forgotten to do something which would mean a leak? Going to go back tomorrow hopefully to discuss but wanted opinions first..

Loaded it up with stuff and moved my girlfriend out of Uni. Turns out she has an awful lot of crap, this made it uncomfortable for the 2 friends we drafted in to help us shift it all. They were less than amused when we hit traffic on the M2 on the way home lol.

M3 is back in my posession either tomorrow or Tuesday. As much as I've really enjoyed wafting about in the Discovery, it's going to be nice to have it back.

^ Hoover? at uni?

I had a busy weekend, I finally finished installing my audio (Pioneer GM-A5602 and Alpine SPR-60C) on saturday, after having spent most evenings as well on it.
And today I also finished installing my nexus 7 centre, I just need to wrap it now for the colour match, and then washed, clayed, polished and waxed.

He should have done what he said and done it properly the first time now he has more work, more material cost's and a (rightfully) ****** off customer!

Very much so. We had words yesterday and slightly more serious ones today.

Long and short is a massive amount of money back or do it again to which he is doing at the end of the month and doing the bare metal respray we agreed on initially. Third time lucky, total nightmare to boot.

I picked it up at 8pm and so the lighting wasn't great but it looks OK in the shade... but as the paint settled out came the blisters again and the swirls and shimmying from absolutely attrocious polishing are terrible in the sun. He knows he's sailing close to the wind, he almost sounded like he was in tears saying how he'd built his business up over 6 years then this happens. I didn't paint it though so it's on his head. See what happens at the end of June! :) As it stands I'm quite gutted as I have a car show v. soon I wanted it right for... it needs machine polishing properly but it's not worth chucking money at really :(

I can't wait until I get bothered by microblisters and have heart attacks when I hear a stone getting thrown up and so on. :p

When I had mine done they just recharged it and said that there is uv dye in there or something - if it stops being cold I was told to call out an expert who would be easily able to trace the leak

Still cold though, so think it had just run out due to use/age.

It must be incredibly frustrating for you being without the car for so long and paying a large sum of money only to get a sub par paint job and now doing it all again and hoping its right this time.

I was annoyed when I had a orange ST and Ford painted the side skirts and the colour match was not very good but your experience is 100x worse.

I hope it is done right next time mate!

How much have you actually had sprayed? The whole car? If so, £1200 is pretty cheap.

If it was £1200 I don't understand how there was ever an expectation of anything more than a quick blowover. I cannot see how somebody unable to charge more than £1200 for his time and skillset is ever going to get the job looking spot on. It just takes more time and money than that..

not today, but yesterday I had to baby my car from ipswich to norwich with a clutch that slips like hell. not the most fun thing i've ever done...

That was taken down by me purely for cleaning the house before moving out, don't worry no actual cleaning was done the rest of the year :p

No, she is the one in the front looking distinctly happy with herself :p Much rage occurred when I switched on the heated seats for the rear passengers as it was boiling and they were unable to reach the switch to turn if off themselves :D

Why on earth would the rear heated seat controls by available to the driver. Bizarre setup.

They're not, they're placed behind the center arm rest along with the rear air vents, I had to reach around the back to get them.
