What have you done to your car today?

That is ridiculously overpriced. Also, I don't want one. :p

I'd rather have a Toyota '90% of a Type R' Corolla.

To be honest I just put in a rough budget and posted the first one :D The most immaculate ones I've seen are around 7k the rest look a little rough around the edges but not looked into them a great deal. To be honest, the new Civic Type-R is immense, would simply love one of those :p

:D :D

To be honest mate, save up and get an EP3 Type-R. Absolutely gorgeous cars, wish I could insure one as you can pick up a very decent one for 7k :(

Something like this...

If he didn't like the 'having to rev to 5k to get anywhere' nature of the T-sport he'll hate the Type R even more :p

They never felt fast to me, lots of revs and noise and no real get up and go.

You know you want a 330Ci ;)

I want to give a T-Sport another go, but I need more time to drive around and get used to it a little, without being stuck driving around in a town with a dealer breathing down my neck.

Surprisingly the Polo actually has a surprisingly usable amount of poke at low revs in proportion to the poke at higher revs, so the T-Sport actually felt more gutless than the Polo at sub 3K RPM which was very strange, but when I opened it up it was brilliant. :p

Right..........

GF used to have the same engine in a polo and it had 0 power over the whole rev range.

Perhaps I worded it wrongly, I meant that in proportion to the peak power, the Polo seems to have more guts low down.

The T-Sport has more pull than the Polo in the low RPM range obviously, but proportionately, it felt like there was a much bigger gap in between the low RPM performance and high RPM performance.

Make sense? :)

I don't want either of those things. :p

Mondeo's far from do it for me, and the 330CI while a nice car, has the potential to throw costly repair bills, and the insurance is a bit eye watering for me.

What's wrong with a 2001 with 100k miles?! (I sold it to my colleague for 1750 at that exact age and mileage lol)

Still going strong over a year later. Most expensive bill it'll throw is about 600 for the cooling system, won't cost you anymore than anything else of similar age

I don't think that is true, I mean, car parts from different manufacturers cost different amounts, right? :p

Its another reason why I find the T-Sport so appealing. Bulletproof reliability, and relatively cheap parts in comparison to the Germans.

I think Blackhawk is right. You want pull at low torque? That screams diesel! :D :D

Think you mean low rpm!

Turbo petrols for the win - I can do every trick that diesel fanboys love to tell you about... Can pull away in second, accelerate seamlessly from idle rpm, pootle around at 30 in 5th. But mine doesn't run out of puff at 4000rpm, it's still shoving you into the back of the seat :)

12hr days take their toll :p

Your terminology is all wrong, but I know, and I will test drive one, but I also wan't a car which sounds good....... :p

May also test drive an Octy VRS/Leon FR.

Or just buy a car with a bigger engine and live life happy.

You know the rules with the vRS ;)

The FRs are very nice, would you be looking at a fat one at that budget?
