What have you done to your car today?

Fitted the hideously expensive Audi rear sunshades to protect baby.
Piece of cake to fit, looks really good as well.

Much better than naff suction ones and you can open the window.

(not my pic, obv)

Cleaned the car inside and out.

Brother-in-law then showed up in his A4 TFSI ready to do an oil change - ended up doing a full service. First time he's ever done anything that hands on with a car and first time I've done spark plugs (need to buy my first petrol car at some point), but we took it steady and it's all done an dusted.

Did you hit an animal?

Yeah a big white animal called a van :-(. Was at a roundabout with the van in front of me. It went to pull away as there were no cars in sight (I know as I was looking that way instead of focusing on the van) and just decided to stop for no reason. Unfortunately I didn't react in time. My own fault but doesn't stop me being angry at the woman in the van.

That sucks :( Something everyone does though it's just a case of realising in time.

Ohh well the front end was due a re-spray anyway as it is littered in stone chips, was planning on getting it done after winter. It's going to prove an expensive respray mind and scuppers the upgrade plans I had for this month :(.

Since getting the golf home last night, having a proper look at it after work and started to clean the inside out, make a list of things i need (It's a bloody long list!!) .. It's just hit me, i've got A LOT of work to do! Admittedly majority of it is cosmetic, I like the whole sleeper look too but damn!

Gave the inside a hoover and then it got dark, i need to hire a garage or something to work in over the winter!

Make sure it gets a proper engine. MK2s should have an ABF IMO

The one that was just supplied to you only a week ago from a dealer? Why would you be changing oil in it yourself!?

because i didn't like how black it was! and it was like water.

The oil was only £30 and im more than capable so i though why not...

Yea now i know i should have left it.

I thought they were doing a service as well? If the oil is already black then clearly not. Clearly you got a great "deal" from that dealership

Not to mention doing a £350 service for me included when I was originally told it wasn't included.
