What have you done to your car today?

Installed a superchips remap on it. I'm actually impressed, before I could feel the turbo running out of puff after 3k. Now it's pulling all the way upto the redline. Torque is mental.
 
Yipyip... Enjoy the short shift torque pulls, and try launching it with a bit of clutch slip, diesels are mental for it... :D

tell me about it! was 20ish miles away from home on some sweet b-roads and a small pothole killed it! thought I cracked my alloy/blew my tyre but nope it was just the mount.

driving back home was sketchy to say the least.
 
Bought 4 used wheels for the daily as they are a better more common size. Got delivered 3 wheels. How the hell do Yodel lose an entire wheel. They were taped and wrapped up in pairs but some how one broke free and no one noticed?!.....:mad:

Receiving three is almost worse than receiving none... Because they'll just sit there, mocking you... :p

Hope you get it sorted but it is Yodel after all... Best you can hope for really is that the seller refunds you and chases Yodel?
 
They delivered 3 tyres to me........ Sure other one went to France or something daft. Ended up having to wait a week for it.

That would be the ideal situation as I am bidding on a single wheel at the moment. Will be making a personal visit to my local Yodel depot tomorrow though.
 
Filled it up otherwise I wouldn't have made it home.
Also started putting together a schedule for the weekend, got to get it properly cleaned etc. for photos before sticking it on Autotrader etc

My mate doesn't know much about cars but can sure drive them quicker then me and even he's impressed. So I'm happy.
 
Tbh I'd love to have a go in a quick TDI. I like the power delivery of the Skoda. The only problem is that there isn't much of it and it runs out too quickly. :p

Then perhaps you need to go in a quick turbo petrol :)

My 120D ran 30 more BHP and literally 200LBFT more more torque than the Honda but felt slower haha. Diesels are good at feeling punchy as they come on boost (4 cyls at least) but not many feel powerful at the top. They can definitely be improved with a quality map though, mine was OK and didn't tail off but never felt particularly powerful.

To be fair though a friend had an Ibiza Cupra PD160 and hybrid, intercooler, full exhaust, good map and it ran 240BHP and 400lbft and to be fair was a bit of an animal in a little car, pretty agressive for a diesel.
 
One of the cars I was considering when I got the Corolla was a PD130 Polo GT (9N) which had a 160HP map, but I'm glad I got the Corolla instead, cos it made me curious about different kinds of cars, instead of being stuck in the VW mindset. :p

Just realised that I've never driven a turbo petrol! :eek: Plenty of N/A petrols and turbo diesels though. And an N/A diesel too... Eugh.

I would like a turbo Saab someday, for some reason.

Honestly, the Skoda pulls 0 - 20MPH faster than any car I've had with a launch.

My 0 - 60ft times were faster than some pretty quick cars at Pod! The fact that I'm not bothered about abusing it probably helps...

In any case, I didn't specifically say I was talking about mine... I was more talking about the 200 - 300HP VAG diesels of Youtube.
