What have you done to your car today?

Wow, the raw performance of the 90bhp Octavia diesel knows no bounds

When I say 0 - 20MPH I probably mean 0 - 15MPH...

But that is when I'm being cruel. Full throttle and letting the clutch out slowly, holding about 1800RPM until fully engaged. Best way to launch a slow car. :p

It does actually move off surprisingly quickly when doing that, but once its got rolling, thats the end of the fun and games... :(

I was being serious. :D More torque low down. When I say 0 - 20MPH I probably mean 0 - 15MPH...

lol come on man, even for you this is pretty cringe

Don't worry, it was a bit tongue in cheek. It is as slow as sin, as proven by the videos from Pod! :p

I just find it funny how it feels quick-ish when going from stationary to moving, but once moving its the slowest thing in the world. Diesel lyfe.

Is that open to everyone? :p

No. :p

And I want a head start. :D

That power curve is amazing. You can feel the powah just from looking at it. ;) :D

It does have about the same amount of torque as Grud's car and all delivered much sooner, so I stand by my childish 60ft drag race challenge. :p

Anyway, sorry to derail. What have I done to it today? Drove it to work..... As you were!

I challenge you to a 60ft drag race. :p
Yipyip... Enjoy the short shift torque pulls, and try launching it with a bit of clutch slip, diesels are mental for it... :D

Tbh I'd love to have a go in a quick TDI. I like the power delivery of the Skoda. The only problem is that there isn't much of it and it runs out too quickly. :p

One of the cars I was considering when I got the Corolla was a PD130 Polo GT (9N) which had a 160HP map, but I'm glad I got the Corolla instead, cos it made me curious about different kinds of cars, instead of being stuck in the VW mindset. :p

Just realised that I've never driven a turbo petrol! Plenty of N/A petrols and turbo diesels though. And an N/A diesel too... Eugh.

I would like a turbo Saab someday, for some reason.

Honestly, the Skoda pulls 0 - 20MPH faster than any car I've had with a launch.

My 0 - 60ft times were faster than some pretty quick cars at Pod! The fact that I'm not bothered about abusing it probably helps...

In any case, I didn't specifically say I was talking about mine... I was more talking about the 200 - 300HP VAG diesels of Youtube.

When I say 0 - 20MPH I probably mean 0 - 15MPH...

Asda car park, 11PM, via McDonalds. ;) :p
Surely its about time you started your own thread to post this drivel in again?

I was actually thinking this the other day - been a while since Acme was looking for new car? :D

Open a "Spec me" thread - you know you want to ;)

Nah. I fear the hammer. :p

I think there's no point! he know he needs to have an mx5 ;)

Dunno, I hear Mazdas have rust issues. ;)

Sorry all, I'll tone it down a bit...
