What have you done to your car today?

Aye, the engine was dead so it sat at the back of a friends garage for years and I always admired it. It was a solid chassis though, zero rust anywhere so it was worth saving.

I asked for years and eventually a deal was done :)

Nice. Would have been more of a momentous occasion if you had wiped out some pedestrians while capturing the moment at 55mph though.

At least I was stationary when I took my vastly superior picture a couple of years ago. :p

You live in London, you absolutely need locking wheel nuts. And also bulletproof glass windows. :D

I've got a set but I'll get rid soon as there's little that can stop you if you really want the wheels. Bullet proof windows would be nice tbh ;)

Thats true, but its 10x more work if there are locking nuts, and it will create a lot more noise. Puts most people off nicking them. :p

I'd prefer rust proof metal to bulletproof glass. :D :(

Hmm... In some weird way, I feel like the pinstripe and screws suited it better. :p

Was expecting to scroll down and see a pressed plate too. :D

Changed 1 drop link, went to do other side, but snapped the groves on the locking nut key.

Anyone know a easy way to get locking nuts of without the key, as got some new ones on the way, car is an astra g convertible.

This is what I ended up doing after a wheel nut snapped my key, I took it to Porsche colchester and it ate their key too. About £300 later and it was out.

Take the car to Vauxhall, they will have a master key set.

What is all of that which is stuck to the bolt?

That my friend is weld and plenty of it, I bought every bit of kit that claimed to be able to remove locking wheel nuts. All of them were pretty much useless, this nut was in there and wasn't coming out.

We built up weld on top of the locking nut until it extruded from the wheel, after that welded a massive bolt on the end then with a couple of meters of breaker bar and a couple of blokes standing on the end it eventually came lose. This is what happens when some numpty decides to secure locking nuts with air tools.

Ahhh right.

Yeah monkeys with air tools and a bit of rust will present problems. Every time mine has been to the garage I undo the bolts and redo them up to make sure they have been torqued properly.

Yeah, I got moaned at by the 5-0 so had to get new plates but I'm going to get the original dealer plates remade as I like the logos and stuff. These were from work as I just needed some. Nooo, I'm not a huge fan of pressed plates.
