What have you done to your car today?

People seem to really hate the 1.6TDI for some reason.
Can't say why as I haven't driven one myself.

What increase in power/torque was the remap supposed to get you?
:)

Stock its 104bhp and 250NM torque, the stage one takes it to about 129bhp and over 300NM. But it also alters the power curve, this means the power delivery is smoother but kicks in sooner.
Prior to the remap, 5th gear at 40mph was useless, even on a flat straight road, now it will accelerate on the same stretch, i find that when the power kicks in, it feels much stronger and pulls harder and quicker to accelerate and thus i can shift gears quicker to get to my cruise speed.

Finally washed the Citroen, think that was the filthiest it's ever been. All new rear bulbs on the sons Fiesta, and a new airfilter. Ten torx screws to hold an airfilter box on, thanks Ford.

Car ticked over 90,000 miles today. Where did the 30,000 miles go!

Robbie you can get refurb replacements where you send yours back on receipt.

£78.59 per side.

That is excellent thanks! The car's been fine ever since and I've done over 200 miles now too, but I have an oil service and a few belts and things being done mid January before the trackday, so will get the indy to strip the front calipers down fully and give the yay or nay as to whether it's worth ordering a refurbed pair.

What!??

I lack common sense at times but never in my life have I felt the heat coming through a wheel and thought, "I know, it seems like a really good idea to touch the brake disc"

lmao :D

It's just one of those things blokes must do from time to time

I remap cars/vans as a side line and with the Diesels is not about HP gain but the Torque, it can totally transform the drive! My T5 Transporter is like night and day difference. Really made it a pleasure to drive.

So would any wheel contraption!
Wow, there's some serious car snobbery in this forum...
Ive had more expensive or faster cars before, a 2.5 V6 jag, a 2.2 VTEC Prelude, a 200 SLK... so what, they all do the same basic thing, some faster, some more economical, as for looks, they are subjective!

Relax, I just seriously, seriously dislike the vag 1.6tdi - I don't really care what badge the thing wears or what else you've ever owned

No worries, each to their own.
Ive never had a diesel before, so its new territory to me, i just wanted to have a big car with out the associated running costs ive had in the past, and with the remap and extra torque, its a real nice drive, lots of pull, but is noisy as hell compared to good ole petrol.

How many MPG do you get average and on a run? Curious to see if its better than my 13 year old 1.9TDi Octavia... :p

Prior to the remap i was seeing a max of 66mpg, on the MFD, after 2 weeks ownership, since the remap the highest ive gotten was 75mpg and then 68mpg later that same day after being stuck in heavy, slow traffic going home.

Im still getting used to the difference in driving style to my petrol cars, gear changes are different as the power/torque is so different.

I tried to get a picture at the time, but by the time i pulled over and got the phone out and ready it had dropped a bit..

Nice, about 10MPG better than mine :) 65MPG is realistic on a run, 55MPG combined, and the best I ever had was 75.5MPG over a 140 mile motorway slog, but I was *trying* to see how high I could get it.

The journey was mostly country roads, a few good long straights, then in and around the town a little.
Seems that driving/accelerating slow is actually not so good like it would be on a petrol car, in fact i find i got the highest figure when i gave it a bit more beans going through the gears...
