What have you done to your car today?

Switched from twins to a larger single. Time to play gearbox roulette

Had a second hand engine mount arrive.
Shoved some 40 shore PU in all the gaps.
Will prob take a week to cure.
Better than paying £150 for a PU engine mount

Finished with suspension for now..

Today -;

Control arms replaced
tie rods replaced(were seized, couldn't align)
full hunter alignment

now drives like it should!

Good stuff! I suppose they weighted the car before aligning it and then did the ride height measurements etc?

It was a weighted alignment, wasn't cheap either but the guys knew what they're doing which is something refreshing if I look at my previous garage experiences. They found a loose arb nut too which was causing a slight knocking. Right now the car drives great! Combined with 18" wheels I think I got it back to where it was out of the factory. Next year I might get kw3 suspension but I'll see how I feel about it really.

Smoked side repeaters, replaced flaking rear Ford badge and fitted missing side skirt jacking point cover.

Just need to wash it now!

Having just spent about £2000 on pretty much every new consumable including brakes and tyres (the final set of rears went on this morning) I figured a good wash and wax was in order. Wonder how long it will last! Great to be able to get some power down again (and the top!).

Sheared a cat > manifold stud last night while out "playing" in the Mondy so spent 15 mins this afternoon replacing it. Fortunately if was easily accessible and the sheared stud wound out with some mole grips and I had a jar full of spare studs and lock nuts in the garage - fortunately uses the same stud/nut as a Pinto manifold.

I think If I'm going to drive it this enthusiastically, need to look into some uprated engine mounts!

There was a identical car to yours but black at pistonheads today. Looked great. :)
