What have you done to your car today?

Not to my car, but went to a breakers yard with a mate and got a pair of good condition Sport cloth seats out of a fire damaged 1 series for £40 each, and then we modified them to fit in his E30 Touring in the place of the poverty spec E90 seats which were previously in there. They are great, really comfy.

Though if you have the means to make custom flanges etc (though off-the-shelf items are also available but not cheap) you can fit a Cooper S supercharger for a fairly small amount all things considered, and it should net about 40HP~. :)

Might be what I do to be honest.

I fitted a new oem brake line to the front, a lot easier than messing about flaring copper pipe, just bought the correct one from BMW and bent it to shape.

Think the previous Eagle F1's were past their best after 23k miles on the rear :/

So I've fitted some f20 1 series 16" wheels with 205/55 R16 Michelin PS4 all round to replace the original staggered 225/45 and 245/40 R17 wheels. I should have done this ages ago, the car is literally transformed - so much more comfortable, less tramlining, turns in better, less understeer and feels a lot more like a rwd car should. This was the OE wheel and tyre size for the SE models and although it doesn't look as good as on the OEM M sport wheels it drives so much better and its only a horrible looking compact anyway so who cares! :)

Think today I will give it a good clean ready for its MOT tomorrow.

Not been using the Alto much as the CV's need done :(

Got it washed today and presents well. Also installed a cheap dash cam just to try them out. The Skyline will really be done in 2 to 3 weeks and once that's home the Alto goes in for its new CV joints and maybe a few treats.

Coaxed some life into Dad's GTA. First time it has run properly in a long while. Not convinced I've fixed it, mind, yet...

Carried out some rust prevention on the Mercedes and the Dodge as well - and did a few minor odd jobs, too, like fitting a new wiper blade to the W124 and re-riveting the Dodge's arch trims.

Lashout what was the problem with your dad GTA in the end ?

I remember some time ago you making a thread asking what it could be.

That's right! This was the first time I'd looked at it since; all I did was pound on the fuel pump and filter assembly (the main one, at least) and then go around cleaning all the engine grounds and connectors. Apparently the GTAs are particularly sensitive to duff grounds and odd voltages, so it might have made some difference. Did find a few connectors packed with crud.

I have a new Facet front pump and an uprated Walbro 225 to go on it, though, along with new filters - because the ones on it look very tired.

I see where you're going with this ;)

Haha, to be honest, the main reason is I've spoken to Vigoro about his car at a few points, and was just interested to see why he would remove it.

I don't think Mk1 S/C kits fit mk2.5's without a fair bit of work (if at all) and if I recall clearly, his is a M45, and i'd probably be looking at a MP62.

Kit is being sold, car is staying, just don't want the supercharger on it any more! Want to aim to get the suspension sorted this year, and get some track days done, after that I don't really know, see whether we want to upgrade it or give it more power again, just not with a supercharger!

Have you had a lot of issues with the supercharger? Sort of sounds like you fell out of love with it?

Yeh wind had a chill to it but in the sun it was lovely. Best weekend we have had for a while.

Need to update your sig now you have the best wheels on.

Sort of, had issues with cold starts for the past 6 months or so, few issues with the belt not being lined up properly etc. Put it all back standard on Saturday, turned the key and it started first time, and has everytime after that which it wouldn't do with the supercharger

Also, it being slower isn't a bad thing. Means i can enjoy it more on the road. If I want to go fast I just jump in the other car

Put four new tyres on, LCI indicators and de-badged it, the old run flats had about 6mm on them but this was how bad they were inside, zero TPMS warnings.....:(

Cleaned the MX5 for the first time this year. Instantly reminded just how much of a pig the paint is with random streaks and marks from whatever you apply to it. Also realising that a mohair roof was a mistake as it is constantly covered in cat paw prints and hair. Took it out both days of the weekend and enjoyed driving it but I think I'll need to bite the bullet and fit a new exhaust this year. The current one seems to be getting louder and louder (something reviews of it stated as well) and it has gone beyond pleasant and is reaching ASBO level now.

Swapped the wheels over on the wifes Punto. Steels will get a coat of straight to rust paint before next year. Alloys look like they could do with a refurb but will now need to wait until the winter to get that done. I used a 12V inflator to put 2 PSI into 2 tyres and when I went to start it the battery was flat so that looks like it needs swapping out too.
