What is it that makes people hate Apple so much?

Umm Samsung basically won, read what actually came out of the hearing, they basically are back on track only having to make some minor software updates.
Its nothing to what Apple fans are trying to make it out to be, and why would they anyways, out of all of this ya cant help but get the impression that Apple are looking a bit scared at the moment.

If Apple poeple like to talk the talk and say how great the products are, then lets have at it and let the public decide what best, if Apple are so strong, they dont need to worry, if they innovate so well..blah blah blah....

Technically their was about 10 infringements that went in..only one has been fully upheld, and I think its being reported that a software fix will solve the problem, and they have plenty of weeks to do that.

Nokia and Microsoft are nowhere near giving up. Microsoft is only going to invest more and more money into mobile.

Indeed, they will pump money into it until it does well IMO. There isn't much wrong with it now, it just needs some tweaking and proper advertising.

Not another thread about it...ipod sucks spent too much time fixing the where's all my apps/music/stuff gone (itunes on windows sucks big time) most macs are overpriced, remember osx is a bsd fork, the just works thing is really only because the hardware is so limited compared to (generally) windows based pc. AmigaOS is far better!

Now on a serious note, nearly anything you do on a mac can be done on a pc or countless other OS's they're just tools in the end. Data goes in, data comes out. I use both. Both have good points, design rarely makes me go wow as I much prefer hardware. So, in the end...Apple loses out but that doesn't make them worse products overall, I just don't see them as better!

To be fair, when I started I actually had the 3GS vs Desire thing in my head, as that was the choice I had when I brought mine, so if I'm being honest I did make a bit of a **** up and maybe should say I was wrong.. :p Had the specs of the 3GS in my head for the 4 for some reason.

Yet you said nobody in their right mind would buy a mac to put only windows on it... I said no, you're wrong, lots of people do...

Surely if you need to tweak things to get things to work the OS isn't doing its job properly.

I agree, which is why Vista and 7 work just fine out the box, much like OSX. If you want to consistently fiddle then fine but otherwise you can just just buy and then sit back and relax.

I know Android is currently doing very well but Nokia and Microsoft are mere months away from giving up in my opinion. Last week Motorola was bought by Google and I see that being liquidated into the company in no time.

Rot... MS and Nokia have only just started... Bit like saying Google would have given up after the G1.. There are about 8 WP devices coming out in the next month or two.;)

Sigh, would rather spend my time loving the platforms I choose to use, rather than hating the ones I don't*.

*I use both, a lot.

I don't HATE apple at all. They make ok products. But i don't like is the following

1) Using an Apple product treats you like a n00b and doesn't let you do stuff off the beating track as easily as other things do. It's there way or not at all

2) Their products try to overtakes everything you do and dumps blotware on your PC (looking at you iTunes, hgug!)

3) 70% of people buy Apple because everyone else buys Apple, not really understanding what they are getting or what to use it for. Basically i dislike the sheep mentality of the users.

4) People (and Steve jobs etc) proclaiming there products are the best when they're nowhere near it. They are fine products and they do what they're suppose to do....and do it very well. But that's it, they're just functional devices, they're better examples out there of mobiles and tablets from Samsung. And that's why they're chasing them with lots of vigor

1) Using Apple. Switch to terminal. Infinitely more powerful. What's this beaten track?
2) iTunes is fine. On OSX.
3) 7 million % of statistics are made up. Also, implying that people buying products because their friends do, or they think it's a cool product is unique to Apple. My brother is vehemently anti Apple and only uses Linux and an Android phone. He uses them because they're the anti thesis to Apple. And he's not unique.
4) Can't argue with that. People on here bitched me out when I said the iPhone 4 should have had a dual core. And I still maintain it could use a dual core.

1) I was thinking more of the iPhone when i wrote that, you have to Jailbreak your phone

2) So i have to completely go over to Apple products if i want a smooth seemless experiance? Hum, you see my point?

3) A huge majorty of my friends bought apple because everybody else bought it.....BAHHHHHHH!! BAAHHHHHH!

This is just wrong.

Samsung devices often have better hardware (though they are nearly always newer devices being compared, not the ones at the time of release). They still run Android, many people spending top book on a device simply don't want Android, they care about things like apps, not widgets and benchmarks.

The Samsung Galaxy S II (1.2Ghz dual-core as you well know), is no faster in operation at doing anything than my iPhone 4 running iOS 5 beta 6.

Also, they're not chasing them, they're just using the patent system, all companies do it, but it doesn't get much coverage because it's not Apple.

3) A huge majorty of my friends bought apple because everybody else bought it.....BAHHHHHHH!! BAAHHHHHH!

That says more about your friends than Apple. :)

Its about status mostly, oh and most users won't have a conversation about anything apple without ending it with "ApPle is Teh bEsT"

Nonsense.

1) What could you possibly need to do (aside from run unsigned apps) on a phone that you would have to jailbreak it.

2) Not really. If I wanted to use Windows Media Player I'd have to go and use Windows. Not that I would use that ****. xmPlay is the best media player for any platform ever.

3) A lot of my friends use Windows. A lot use Linux. Some use OSX. They tend to just use what they like. OS X users are in the minority though. There's me and two other guys. The rest are all anti-Apple so use Android.

What on earth are you talking about? Android is probably the best Mobile OS out there, it does everything you need it to and bit more. I suppose you have no idea about the ROM scene for the Galaxy S2 (phone i have). You can stick on any custom OS you like on and it tweaked beyond anything you can experiance on an iPhone. I love having active moving wallpapers on my phone, and lets not forget Flash :D

Lol. Yeah, I have no idea about the Galaxy S II. You're totally right.

Also, yes. Android is totally the best Mobile OS. Totally.

Honestly.

:o

Good luck using the term 'ROM scene' when selling to middle aged women and young girls (in fact, nearly everyone). Clueless.

But only a small minority care about tweaking and far more are interested in using their device productively.

I'm sorry but the vast majority of people wont care about active wallpapers on their phone/device, as 99% of the time they wont be looking at.

I do think tweaking etc is something you grow out of, when I had the time as a student I did overclock and play around with things, nowadays I have far more important things to do and couldnt think of a worse waste of time. I'm quite happy to allow a company to streamline my experience...

ps3ud0

Topic makes my head burst........

I had an iPhone 3g after a string of other smartphone, the iPhone was better than any of them, once the iPhone 4 came out i had a choice get that or buy an Android phone, i refused to pay for the iPhone and went Android (HTC Desire), worst choice i've ever made, i then spend 8 months hating the phone and in the end sold it and purchased a new iPhone 4 in White outright.

I've used loads of phones and had quite a few myself, whilst each model and brand has up and downsides i can honestly say the iPhone is a better total package than anything else on the market.
