What is it that makes people hate Apple so much?

lol my iphone seems to play youtube, bbciplayer, and well with tv catchup pretty much most channels you would need on freeview, without any problems :p

i must admit, i use my pcs 99% of the time, the mac gets used occasionally, but its there just incase i need it.

the thing that gets me is why people would use the word 'hate' and mean it about a company, that isnt doing anything that justifies hatred. a strong dislike yes, but hate just seems so petty.

Dude, everyone has an opinion on everything regardless of their familiarity or understanding of the matter. The more polarising the opinion, the better.

lol I was joking because we know it can do all those things but people say it's the reason they wouldn't have one...
 
ill add my 2 cents... i used to be a big apple hater.. because of my personallity, im a power to the people kind of person. i dont like the way apple would bring out products like there something out of this world... and charge a stupid amount.. so u spend your hard earned money buying these gadget only for apple to release generation after generation, business giants taking the **** outta the public.. in my opinion, now im not so botherd because there starting to bring out real products setting new standards. I treat Macs differently because they have somthing completely different.. not just another mp3 or phone but i whole otherway of doing things. i still dont own anything by apple/mac but im planning to(macbookpro and ipad), things are pricey but the build quality seems nice.. the thing i love to do the most is to own abit of everything.. people argue about what is best, ps3/xbox.. i own both and im planning to do with the same with pc/mac.. keeps me happy and impartial

Every company brings out new products which are in development and testing whilst the current one is being punted as the "best ever" however Apple are simply honest about it by naming them as generation 1, 2, 3 etc. Where as other companies will redesign the case, change one component and claim it's an entirely new model of the same product family.. I'm thinking of Graphics card manufacturers, PC manufacturers etc.

It's odd that people don't associate this sort of behaviour with most companies but many people are blinded by some daft anti-brand loyalty.

Personally I like technology and have no particular brand loyalty. I have Apple products but I also have a custom built PC, netbook, Nintendo Wii, Sony TV etc. I get what product is best for the purpose and not because of a badge as frankly most of them will never leave the house anyway!

Plus I'm married, I've no more impressing to do of the ladies! :D
 
The whole Apple image gives off a cult esque mentality. Have you seen some of the freaky launch videos with the staff whipping up the countless sheep into a frenzy.

iMacs and the whole OSX operating system which is plain painful to use. You would think because their phones/tablets/ipods are user friendly they would have sorted out there main operating system out by now.

The only reason I see why anyone would want to buy a Mac is that the case quality is built to high standards. PC's are cheaper, better and faster than the equivalent Macs.
 
Because it's become sort off 'cool' to hate Apple and you know that most people would just about do anything to be seen as cool.

Personally I have zero emotion invested in Apple, or any company/console/brand for that matter. It's a shame really because I do enjoy the endless internet merry-go round banalities of drones spending hours passionately defending their choice by passing it off as the best.

I just like what works best and have me spend as little time thinking about it as of possible. Until my Apple products (iMac, iPad, iPhone, Mac Air) start giving me issues, I'll stick with it. Saying that, the Macbook Air has been gathering dust lately in preference of my lowly Sammy laptop.

Suppose I use what's closest to hand.
 
Smugness, general use of it by Media Types ive lost 2 good friends to Apple Macs and both have used the very same lines "My productivity increased using a mac book" They are both Smug armature photographers.. I say no more.... They are like the Home cooks that spend 10k on kitchen gadgets just to make toast, but cos they own them they are pro chefs.

Its a lifestyle brand. Everyone has seen the apple documentaries, they re branded them self amazingly and caused hype and buzz. (white earphones example)

I have an Iphone... I couldn't care less if it was a S2. I guess im not the intended early 20 late teens market. Where fitting in is paramount.

I personally think, the brand, they are becoming Mundane now 4th Iphone... big deal 3rd tablet... big deal....

Unfortunately, there was a comparative force in the opposite direction of Android users who didn't want Instagram on 'their' platform, so I guess that type of attitude is why people also hate Android users. They're as bad as each other.

This generates more ad revenue for the blog

They write more articles about Apple as it makes them more money

This generates more Apple users

So not only are blog writers the "media types" that use Apple products anyway, their job pretty much depends on them writing about them. So you wonder why the internet media is so skewed :rolleyes:
