What is the creepiest thing to have ever happened to you?

Ok, ive got a story which when i was told made my hairs spike on my neck.

A good 5 years back this is. One of my close friends was asked to babysit a boy while the parents went around the corner for a drink as they never go out.

It was about 10pm, admittedly they asked her to put him to bed at 8, but she used it to get on the little ones good side. Anyway after about 10 minutes he came downstairs and said he cant sleep because a clowns making a funny noise. She thought he was trying to stay up abit longer. But she walked him back upstairs and left the landing light on.

5 minutes passed and apparently he came down again teary saying that its laughing at him and he cant sleep. So she goes up stairs and roots through his toybox asking him what toy made the noise, just incase another toy was pressing on it setting it off. By this time my friend was saying she was freaking out abit. Anyway she went downstairs again and actually rang the parents.. Which said hes making it up. Always said theres noises but nothing actually there.

While on the phone he screams she flies upstairs and the boy was saying; "the clown tried holding me, but i wasnt asleep i swear it". At this time, shes freaking out and telling them to come home. They are about 15 mins off, and because she sounded so upset they told her to go next door and see if they can sit with them, as their are close friends. (Bare in mind 5 years ago'ish my friend would have been 17).

Anyway long story short they get in the neighbours living room and the fella is looking at the house and notices something moving. Apparently there was a 40 year old man with a clowns mask and chef trousers scuttering down the drainpipe.

To this day thinking of this story freaks the hell out of me.

That is quite creepy.. but they managed to ascertain the age of man wearing a clown mask to be exactly 40. That's even more creepy!

(old town house) but thought its because its somewhere new and unfamilar. few weeks have passed and both me and my GF asleep in bed (as ya do) i woke up thinking someting was wrong with her and found myself that i could move, that something/someone was holding me down. at this point i was lying on my back. after about 10 secs or so i was then able to move (bare in mind i am awake at this point) i then woke my GF up and asked if everything was ok, and it was. bit freaked out i went bk to sleep. told my gf what has happened and she was liek everything is alright. yet again few weeks have passed and the same happened again but this time on my frount managed to lift my arm but then dropped bk down again on the bed cudnt move. woke her upagain and told her what happened again and asked if she was alright. she was yet again.

this is just normal sleep paralysis..

next day talking to my gf and she told me that the previous tenant saw some1 in the bathroom mirror and then moved out. still freaked out my GF went to get her cards read. got told that there is 2 spirts in the house 1 is her gran who died when she was younger that is looking at the bottom on the bed watching over her.

A card reader telling someone they have spirits in their house... never heard of that happening before... :p

she told her to put salt in each corner of the room and to move the stuff in the corner of the bed room so he can get past and be gone (says he has been stuck/stopped from passing through)

The fella ran out and rugby tackled him mate. They saw him shimmering down the drainpipe. I personally would have ran and hide, but he had bigger nuts :p

could have been winding us up. But the story still freaked me out.. Never liked nando's chicken again.
 
I've always kept an open mind about ghosts and the like but never really had anything happen before. A few years ago the GF and I were renting a detached house for a short while and whenever we were downstairs you would always hear what sounded like someone walking from room to room upstairs. I never really felt threatened by it but my other half didn't like it one bit and wouldn't go upstairs on her own during the night.

Anyway fast forward a few months and she rings me saying she's got off work early and she's coming home. Now I work from home and my office was upstairs so all the doors were locked but the key's were in the doors so my GF would have needed me to let her in. It probably took her about half hour to get home on average, anyway about 10 minutes after the call I'm sat there working away only someone tugs on the back of my shirt. I turned round saying' how'd you get in?' expecting to see her there and... nothing. I shook it off but a couple of minutes later it happened again.

We moved out shortly after that as it was only a short term place. Certainly unnerved me a bit.

It's better for business to validate what the client says because it keeps the fear going.

It's psychological. Because you think that reading this passage from the bible has fixed the problem, it's either been some sort of placebo or it's done nothing and you've simply had a string of nights when it wouldn't have occurred either way. You said yourself that it was a few weeks between episodes.

Please, get a book on critical thinking. Try The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan.
 
well i am only telling people what i experienced every1 has there own view on things but this isnt the only thign that has happened that i cannot really explain.

read clartymartys post as i am his brother and also i have exprienced other things in endinbrough which is other end of the contry to me.
 
Got home 1 dinnertime to let the dogs out and went upstairs to our bedroom and all the drawers from the chest of drawers had been taken out, turned upside down and stacked 1 on top of the other, with all the clothes still inside them.

When I saw the gf that evening I asked why she'd done it and she didn't know what I was talking about.

I was walking through Windsor Great Park with the Scout group I used to be part of. It was about 11pm and there was 9 of us. Me and my friend were at the back and we had dropped back from the rest of the group a little bit.
So after walking for 10 Minuets of so, the Scout leader looked back at us and his jaw dropped. He then said "looks like we've got company", so me and my friend turn around and are met with a Stag (Massive antlers and all) walking about 10 feet behind us.

We crapped our pants. (Not Literally)
 
Just under a year ago I remember having a random dream one night about a chap who was the brother of my mum's ex partner, all I remember of the dream was entering the small village that he lived in and walking into the local pub and the first thing I did was ask the landlord whether this particular chap still lived in the area, before the landlord answered my question this particular guy walks straight through the door and we greeted each other - and then the dream ended as far as I remember. I thought it was strange as I had not even seen or even thought of this guy for years (mainly due to Mum's ex partner's passing some years previously).

Anyway, I thought nothing more of the dream as I had it right after a night out drinking in town so just put it down to a drunken deep sort of dream. Fast forward to a couple of days later and I arrive home from work one evening, and my Mum alerts me straight away that she had literally just heard about this particular person in question who had died during the following weekend just gone (the same weekend I had the dream). I couldn't believe it just stood in total shock and disbelief for a minute and my Mum asked what was wrong and then I told her about the dream and the timing of it.

That was probably the creepiest thing that I have ever experienced so far in my life, and has made me think more about dreams since.

Why do these stories take on a whole different meaning at night? Having a sneaky smoke out the window, I hear a rustling in the bushes and a weird shriek! Probably the stray cat that we've been feeding. Good night all...

I think this kind of thing is more common than you think - it's a case of positive affirmation. If the person hadn't have died then you would have quickly forgotten about the dream. Something similar happened to me when my granddad died - I had a dream reminding me to write to him and then heard the news the next day. I don't think I have any precognitive / psychic ability or connection; more the fact that the mental deja-vu is down to the event actually happening to affirm what was in the dream. I'm sure it feels stranger if it's not an immediate family member (e.g. an old school friend) or something impersonal like an object, but I think it is still down to your conscious brain acknowledging something that was thought about, probably in a more abstract sense, in your subconscience.

the other1 is not so nice and is a bloke who does not like change. (Gf lived alone with her daughter before i moved in) this is the reason why this has been happening to ur partner. (Me) she has never met this card reader and she told her a lot of things apart from this incedent. freaky i know. she told her to put salt in each corner of the room and to move the stuff in the corner of the bed room so he can get past and be gone (says he has been stuck/stopped from passing through)
