What is the creepiest thing to have ever happened to you?

Lived in bath in a Victorian house. Remember I was stood at the top if the stairs and suddenly got a very weird tingly feeling in my nose. Next thing I remember is being at the bottom of the stairs looking back up and a dark silhouette which I can only assume was my own. I remember feeling very calm and walking off into the kitchen at which point I realised what had happened and had s complete fit.

Another time in the same house was fast sleep. Then heard something coming up the stairs to my bedroom. A white shape with no obvious features but the height of an average woman entered the room. There was a constant high pitch almost choir like singing noise. The moment I saw it I felt completely content and at ease. It walked to the bottom of my bed and my feet suddenly went really hot. I lay my head down in my pillow still feeling really happy and then it stopped. I then once again came back to reality and had a fit.

Used to have long hair to about my shoulders. One day sitting at my desk, i felt something brush against the side of my left ear. Just assumed it was a fold of hair that had shifted. Few moments later, the sensation happened again but against my neck. I just carried on with the same assumption. Knew something was off when that feeling happened again within such a short succession. Stood up, rushed to bathroom and had a glance in the mirror. To my absolute horror, there was giant spider with long legs scuttling about in my hair! Its quite possible that my neighbors at the end of the street heard my screams! Got my hair cut in same week and kept relatively short ever since.

I'm confused, do you mean "had a fit" as in panic'd when you realized what had happened or that these are hallucinations that precede you having a medical fit?

I was up in Snowdonia when one day we were walking along a path, a woman passed my group, she smiled, said 'hello, having a nice day? bla bla'. ten minutes later in the same direction the exact woman passed us again, and said 'hello, having a nice day?'

Another 15 mins past, and she walked past us again, saying 'hello, having a nice day?'
It was weird because she couldn't have went around the path as there was a rock face to our left and a river to our right.

Seems a reasonable response, I have never seen a woman or long-haired man without a head full of spiders.

I reckon it's a set of triplets messing with people :D.

While it's not really scary, depending on the person I suppose it could be considered "creepy;" the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me was when I was about 19-20. I had a dream that I was in our local pub, it was a place all of my family and friends would visit regularly and the owner, Jackie, knew pretty much everyone. In the dream I was sitting on a strange large oval table, I was at one end and at the other was a group of crying/mourning people. Right next to me sat an old man, with a long grey beard and wearing a cloak (think Gandolf.) He had with him a really old book of the dead, including quite gruesome pictures which I remember I wasn't overly keen on, but it seemed important and he was teaching me something.

I stood up and decided to get everyone a drink. As I approached the bar I noticed that the wall behind the counter was gone, replaced by a white misty fog that was quite bright. The owner Jackie was standing there and began talking to me. She brought me behind the counter and started teaching me how to work the bar, telling me where everything was and that I was welcome to come work here. At the time I was looking for work and she seemed to know this. She was very easy-going and started telling me that everything would be fine and that I was very welcome. I then left the pub and the dream ended.

When I woke up I didn't really think much of it and went about my usual business, until I entered the kitchen where I found my mum and brother talking about something. When I entered they told me that Jackie had passed away sometime yesterday evening. Surprised I then told them about my dream and they both went completely white. It turns out my brother had a dream that he was in the pub playing a game of pool with her

Not wanting to doubt your experience at all, but is it possible you heard them talking about it the night before, even in your sleep? Any hint of it could have definitely influenced your dreams. The human brain is an amazing thing, especially to pick up on things subconsciously, what some would call intuition is probably just the way the brain is ticking over things without you realizing.

The creepiest thing that ever happened to me was when I was partying with some pals (and pals of pals) in their flat and we were all very drunk. I feel asleep on my mate's bed and felt something touching my balls. Woke up and caught a gay guy touching me up so I picked myself up, told my pals and went to sleep in another bedroom. They done all the shouting for me. Class one creepy.

I probably wouldn't put it in the "Creepy" box myself, more strange but here goes.

In September of 2002 myself and 2 friends (female) decided that we all wanted out of our respective parents digs so we opted to find somewhere and share. We found a huge 3 bed flat nearby going silly cheap (320 PCM inc CT) We couldn't move in properly on the day we got the keys through work commitments though I managed to wangle the afternoon off and said I'd go clean the place up first (been empty a while so surfaces/carpets needed a once over).

So I goes in armed with cleaning gear and tea-making provisions. About 2pm I decided to have a break with a cuppa. Made myself a brew and stood looking out of the lounge window which overlooked a valley. Suddenly my head was flooded with memories of summer days, looking out of that window, really vivid memories, all the senses, feeling the heat, smells and sounds. It seemed only to last a few moments BUT towards the end of the influx I felt a tapping on my shoulder. It was one of my new flatmates. She said I was stood there for 5 mins just staring and had been since she arrived.

Thing is, she arrived at the flat just after 5pm. I'd lost 3 hours.

Never found an explanation for the event, I even went to the doc to see if I'd had some kind of neurological episode. Nothing.

Lived in that flat for about 18 months and never had anything remotely weird happen again.

thanx for this thread, I'll get even less sleep tonight now with all these stories playing on my mind lol :D

I've had a few creepy experiences in the woods behind my mums house, basically most friday nights a group of us would often meet up, have a fair few drinks and just generally enjoy friday night. This would quite often end with the urge to get a kebab.

The nearest kebab van was about a 20 minute walk away if you walked through the woods which is, in my opinion a lot safer than walking the streets on a friday night and much nicer when your in a group so you dont get spooked by the darkness :D

So anyway, three of us set off on the usual path and when we got into the woods it was really dark, could hardly see whereas normally the moon would provide ample light. It was a rather cloudy night and the moon was very much blocked out so we couldnt see more than a metre I suppose in front of us, not really a problem though as we are following a path and all knew the route well.

On this particular night I was trailing slightly at the back not really talking just sorta plodding along as you do when I thought my mates had stopped, so I just stopped aswell, this all happened in the matter of a few seconds but I stopped because I felt someone next to me so I assumed it was one of the guys,

but as I turned to my right all I saw was the figure of a person, it looked hooded but was completely black (although in the darkness, I wouldnt have seen much anyway) I felt this person looking at me as I looked at them, I felt such a huge overwhelming feeling of dread and negativity as we stood shoulder to shoulder, I had pretty much frozen in fear.

A moment later I heard the sound of a shoe kick some stones and it clicked that my mates had carried on walking, this clicked me right out of the moment and I ran until I crashed into the back of them, I was pretty panicky and they were pretty confused but after I explained I got a good ribbing but to this day that night sends chills down my spine.

Another crazy thing is one night I woke up and this same figure was standing next to my bed before vanishing, I think maybe I was dreaming and hadn't quite woken up yet as its not unknown for me to wake up screaming thinking something is real.

As for that night, it was probably just the darkness playing tricks, not to mention the alcohol but the whole experience pretty much scarred me lol :)

Posted this on another forum around 7 years ago now!

I was walking down my path to my flat which is on the first floor, I can see my main living room window from the street where I drive in, now I know I turned off all my lights before I left, so I was surprised to see the light on. I quickly ran to my flat expecting it to be broken into, to my suprise the door was locked with no damage. I went into my flat, and just as I went in the light turned off, now I can see my only llight switch from the door, that spooked me out big style

So I did what anyone would do, search the flat for anyone in who wasn't supposed to be there, flicked my light switch on and off about 20 times, checked my main fuse box, everything was ok....

I put it to the back of my mind and made dinner etc, during this time I felt that there was something in the kitchen with me, strangest feeling I have ever had, I had goosebumps and the hairs were standing up on my neck.

So, when I was having dinner I was watching TV and checking my email, and I just saw something move out of the corner of my eye, ignored it and continued to do what I was doing, I honestly think now I was trying to convince myself there was nothing there.

So about 12oclock I went to bed not thinking about what happened earlier. Just lying with my eyes falling shut my bedroom door banged opened and hit the wall with a huge bang, I jumped out of bed and ran into the hallway, of course there was no one there, flat door locked and key still in. Just when I turned round I saw a really black dark shadow standing in my living room doorway, I was frozen stiff, I didn't know what to do!

The shadow started to move towards me, man I was craping myself, sod it I thought no point staying here, I turned and ran out the flat just in my briefs.

About 5mins later, with me freezing my ass off outside my flat door, my next door neighbour arrive in from a night out. He obviously asked what the hell I was doing outside in my underwear, I told him and probably quite rightly he didnt believe me. Now with the old dutch courage in him after a few beers, he went inside alone. He came out in about 30secs absolutely white and shaking, he said that he had seen a dark shadow standing in the corner of my living room.

After about 10 mins outside we decided to go in together, there was nothing there, and the atmosphere felt better. He stayed for another half an hour or so, and then left, I went to bed lying awake, must have fell asleep and woke up this morning with nothing else happening...

Part Two..

Now, I have had my two kids over too stay a few times since this has happened, obviously with them being 4 and 6 years old I never mentioned it to them..

At the weekend I had them over the Fri and Sat night, on the Fri night both of themwanted to sleep in my bed, which is highly unusual, to understand this, they usually sleep with the lights out and the door closed, they have no fear of the dark what so ever when they are asleep.

Didn't really think anything of it, they hadn't seen me for a week or so, i guessed they had just missed me. The next day we were riding on our bikes around a loch when my son told me that they wanted to sleep in my bed because they both had felt really cold in their bedroom, again unusual because I always make sure their room is nice and warm. I asked him if there was anything else bothering him, he kind of shied away and said no.

Sat night, we all shared a pizza and I let them stay up later than usual, had a good giggle with them and we were all in high spirits. Must have took them to bed around 10.30ish, I stayed up for an hour or so and checked on them a couple of times, both were snoring away.

At 2.30 I was woken by a thump, I initially thought that one of them had fallen out of bed, so I got up to go through and heard a whimpering, so I went in to the bedroom to find my daughter curled up in the corner of her bed with her head bured in her pillow. A nightmare I thought, so I did the usual of picking her up and cuddling her! She scared the crap out of me by telling me that she had seen someone in the room, I asked where, she said in the corner at the base of her bed. My son, who was lying awake unknown to me then said he had saw it too, I asked what it looked like and both of them said just a black thing, looked like a shadow..

So I turned on the light, and found on the floor, right on the middle a large dinosaur book which was put away earlier by me, I asked my son if he was reading in bed, he said no, but the book falling and hitting the floor woke him up.

Now, for one of them to have a nightmare and think they see something is acceptable, but for two of them to see the same thing is unbelievable in my opinion, not too mention the book falling..

PS From original post.

I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary from my investigations about previous residents of my flat. No one in my block has experienced anything apart from my neighbour in mine..
