Not all GPUs are high end (when if Nvidia want us to think they are).
Because these things aren't linear, but more like a curve, I think the options should have been something like:
£200,300,400,500, then 750, 1000, 1400, 2000
I think there will be a lot more condensed (normally) at the lower end, and at the upper end there's really no difference between 1400 and 1650, really.
This for me.

Last time around my limit was £400.
Got the MSI Quicksilver 1070 for £380, flogged the game that came with it for £20, so effective cost of £360.
Have reluctantly upped my limit to £500, but that's it.
Will buy a new 3070 (or not, if it's over that or only has 8GB) or a s/h 2080Ti or 2070S for less.
If neither are available I'll wait for the 4 series.

I'm willing to spend £750-£800 including a waterblock, I won't be buying on launch this round and will wait for both companies to show their hands and for a bunch of waterblocks to be released first, hoping to upgrade around November.

It's not just about the price. What I *get* for my money has a direct impact on how much of my money I'm willing to spend. I think something like $10-$12 for every % performance increase over my 1080ti up to the point where I can't see a use for the extra performance.
So my "upper limit" is pretty high, but I'm not going to spend $1200 on a gpu "because best".

I voted £750, was intending to spend more but recently decided against over feeding the monster really depends on the performance I get from my money. I'd spend more if it could max the latest AAA games all ultra at 60+ 4K but given the 2080ti gives 30-35fps all ultra on MS FS2020 I'm probably going to be disappointed and or going to wait.

Historically the most I've paid is £650 for my 1080FE...I'd probably double that this time around...which absolutely pains me to say but I generally buy once and buy whatever is the best at the time and that generally lasts me for a good 3-4 years.
