What "man jobs" have you done today?

I have been fixing the tumble dryer which I ended up having to take apart about 4 times over the last few days which ended up with numerous slices on hands etc.

At least it all works again now :)

On a similar hunt myself :)

Me too...Or I was.

When I converted the loft into a Computer room / Music Studio / Porn stash, I just floored it and that was that.
It only took me one winter and one summer to realise that its simply not possible to cope in there...

Winter time was brilliant for overclocking, but in the summer I would be naked all the time I was up there, and thats not a pretty picture I can tell you!

Anyway, I re-done the lot, pulled up the entire flooring, and removed all previous bits of stuff, put the stuff down nice and thick, put the floorboards back, and also did the roof too, this time round however, I also used the foam filler stuff to fill in the cracks where wind was getting through - there were loads and its quite shocking really.

Now, my loft is comfortable all year round.

I think that a big help, was actually putting down a carpet in there too. Not fitted, a rough cut that does not quite reach the sides is all thats up there, cos its an old one from the living room, but its enough for a room thats only for me.

The top shelf? It's just a slatted shelf which came with the log store

The store itself was £75 delivered which I didn't think was too bad

The wicker basket is an old laundry basket I found in the garage and is full of fir cones to use as kindling :D

Put a blind up in bedroom. So much rage. Took me 8+ drill holes in various parts of recess to find somewhere it would actually bite. Made a right mess of newly plastered wall. Not happy really! Just every damn hole I drilled was just a void or load of soft mortar.

It's up now but damn it was annoying!

I have some fine plastic green garden mesh which I have fitted along top of log store and it hangs down front over the logs - just cable tied a cane to bottom - keeps rain from driving into log store but allows ventilation.

That store would last me about 2 months.

Did a spot of wallpapering this afternoon. Just got one small section of the inside of my wardrobe to do and I'll be ready for painting at the weekend. Having an early tea so i can go out and do some industrial weeding before the light completely goes tonight. Get that finished off tomorrow before covering for the winter and continuing the garden remodelling in the spring.

Im going to stack the rest of the logs (currently in the bag) next to it and get some mesh to drape over with the bag on the top :)

We (will) have a log burner in the lounge, but also central heating so the logs should see us through the winter and beyond !

We have a log burner in the garden cabin and an open fire in the office / game room. With central heating for the rest of the house.

We dont go through much about 1 large bag through winter. Ours are currently just sat in a pile next to the shed.
