What "man jobs" have you done today?

I hired a tower scaffold to put eaves trays in and replace a load of rotten laff on the first 2 courses of tiles (my next job) last weekend but it rained every day so had to hire it for another week.
My tiles are very slippy so I bought a cat ladder kit for my ladders , they just bolt on, so glad I did now.
You're supposed to use grano as its a lot more durable but I only had sharp sand. It went off like bell metal anyway :D
Its very easy to do, even easier on a dry warm day when you use normal cement. You have more time to trowel it off. Not that anyone is ever going to see it.

Chased out the walls in the bedroom for the new sockets. So much dust and mess! It shall all be ready for the plasterer on Tuesday.

Does anyone have any tips on getting hold of some floorboards..?

170mm (W) x 20-22mm (D)

They seem like an awkward size. I haven't asked the local timber yard yet, but so far my online searching has been fruitless.

The end game is to sand down and stain the floorboards. Most are in good condition. A couple fell to pieces when lifting them for the electrics and some were just buggered to begin with.

Yes. The other option is to swap some boards from the upstairs bedroom where we shall have carpet, with some of the damaged ones form downstairs.

I accidentally punctured a lead pipe last night when drilling down behind the skirting board for the new wiring. No water, no gas... :) So, am I safe to remove it? It is partially visible as it runs up the wall and would prefer it to not be there when the plasterer comes.

Today I have been to B&Q, bought a load of wall tiles, flooring etc.

Came home, ripped the bathroom out :D Got a downstairs toilet so can use that. Leaving the bath in for now as that's going to take some removing. The bath is about 30mm into the wall at both ends! Someone has made a bit of a bodge doing it too.

Then just now have ordered all the new bathroom suite online. I'm pretty handy with most things but never done tiling before. The walls in the room are far from straight, so that should make it interesting.

I read that people are replacing old, hard to find floorboards with ply, could that be an option?

So I'm going to use some upstairs boards to replace the ones downstairs and then replace the upstairs ones with ply. Try finding ply in 20mm depth. Its proving tricky too.

It goes 11, 12, 15, 18, (lets skip 20, no-one wants 20), 22, 25mm
