What "man jobs" have you done today?

Are those solar fairy lights any good? My missus was wanting some like that for our garden but my experience of solar lights hasn't been good!

My mrs bought some from Sainsburys.. bees with lights inside.. they'll go on the back fence.. once I've painted it..

I recently bought a load of Lodge cast iron pans of various sizes. Amongst them I got 2 mini frying pans - single egg sized and a melting pot. All of them have very small bases and the company name is on the bases in raised letters. This reduced the surface area to the point where they wouldn't work on my induction hob.

Time to break out the angle grinder. A few minutes with a grinding disc and flap disc and they were smooth.

all now work perfectly on the hob. A bit disappointed with myself that the grinder slipped and I marked them :(

While I had the grinder out, I decided to do something about the sadly neglected outdoor gas burner ring.

A few minutes with the wire brush on the grinder and a great improvement was achieved.

noticed a TRV leaking on the radiator in my study - tried loosening the nipple to see if that would fix it and naturally it made it worse :(

Drained the system, drove to the local builders merchant and replaced it :) took about 2 hours all in all.

Gallup 360'd my garden this morning. Will be weeding the area for my grass this afternoon followed up with a spray with weedkiller before covering it up for delivery of soil and sand next month. Hoping to get my garden sorted out this year finally. Hard landscaping should be straightforward enough anti weed membrane then chippings / slabs.

Painted the gas box black instead of the nasty green the previous owner had painted it

Washed all of the external windows and PVC

Now some jungle wall art stickers for my sons room to fit and then maybe wash the car

Re-felted the shed roof. I started in the sun, then it got cloudy, then it rained on me while I was up there, then it came sunny at the end. Hopefully the shed won't leak now...

Roof felt adhesive is utter filth. I managed to get some on my hands and ended up writing off a nailbrush scrubbing it off.

Mowed and strimmed lawn, tidied shed, pressure washed shed (mud splash at bottom), fitted a roller blind, plugged a load of old socket holes in skirting ready for filling an painting, 3 trips to tip with bricks, dug out half the foundations of an old garage.

Beer o'clock!

Mowed lawn and watered it.
Put some blanket week and algae stuff in .. the last week of hard sun is really pushing the algae density!

Been sorting an electronics project...

Emptied shed, destroyed shed, stomped on spider after spider, cleared garage, tidied garage, took shed and some bricks and an old chest of drawers to the tip (4 trips) and fed the family via the BBQ.

Enough man jobs for 1 day.
