What "man jobs" have you done today?

Put the new dryer in the shed earlier in the week. Used it twice so far, both times it's tripped the electrics to the entire house. Once after ~15 mins once after ~40. Electrician double checked all the sockets and wiring to the shed after the first time, reckons if it happened again it's a fault with the dryer which is apparently common these days?

Thoughts?

Finished the roof on the chicken run, put some woodchips down for the chickens, re-stained the picnic bench.

Picked up some guttering for the chicken run, just need to grab a water butt and connect that all up this week.

For what it's worth, most councils have deals with compost and water-butt suppliers.

I just got a full 200litre kit (stand/lid/valve etc) for £30 through our local scheme. Was cheaper than retail.

French doors installed last week, including some brickwork. Looks excellent. 40sqm of flooring being screeded, DPM'd and Karndean going down this week. Then it's over to me for woodworking and paint\decorate. Simultaneously working on garden - waste removal\gentrification. The number of tips runs I'm doing is insane.

Fitted new shower mixer. Centres didnt match, bent copper pipe getting olive off, pipe not long enough to fit new mixer, had to smash up half the kitchen to get to the pipe to extend it. Dad brought around 14lb sledge hammer, so took out my frustration on some of the concrete I need to get rid of. And relax.

Spent most of the day painting the fence and the decking. Delighted with the outcome of the decking as I thought it would take 2-3 coats and it looks just about done with 1, might have to revisit after its properly dried out.

Recycled some old bits of wood and metal brackets to make a rudimentary server rack.

Still need to add my NAS, and more structured cabling, as well as a POE injector for the external wifi AP I'm hoping to install, and Ethernet to HDMI extenders (for the projector / TV) in another room.

I'd love a proper rack, but this stuff was all free... so it was hard to justify the expense, and doing it took no time really.

If I had an RJ45 crimper I'd shorten the cables, but it'll do for now. This is in our side lobby to the house so stays nice and cool and relatively free of dust..

Put bean sticks up and planted out beans - they was getting tall.

Same here, growing beans with my little boy, Wednesday they finally decided they weren't able to stand upright any more so yesterday I was out there stringing up canes, and moving chives and mint to make room.

First time I've really done this, So I was quite pleased with the results, now just hoping the slugs don't destroy them and I'll get a nice crop.
