What "man jobs" have you done today?

Carried out a bit of early autumn work on the lawn last week by scarifying, top dressing and over seeding but it's not going too well at the moment. Not only do I have a flock of pigeons helping themselves to the seeds everyday, just found out the kids have been in the garden while I was at work trampling all over the freshly laid grass seed undoing most of my work. :(

It threw it down with rain last night - sure it's helped the new grass - got a few bare patches but can soon sort that.

Just about two weeks from seed to grass

Cut some branches off a Sycamore tree at the end of the garden, so thought i'd use them for something. Hopefully it'll be ok for the budgie. I did a fair bit of googling on how to make branches safe for birds and gave them a good cleaning with white vinegar then put them in the oven to kill off any bugs/bacteria etc. Just need to add some bells and crap now.

Mark A -- That's neat -bet budgie will love it.

After a few days and a bit of rain lawn has grown and masked bare patches - I have reseeded them and covered with compost so by this time next week it should be green all over - Then I have to cut it - Will sharpen blade on wheeled rotary mower and up the cut to number 4.

There is another lawn behind the bushes and few years ago I dug that one up as well but put turf down - not looking as good as the seeded one. - Be nice when I can cut it properly - top lawn that is,

I have finally accepted that DXP55 and woodworking are a marriage made in HELL - Over the last few months I have been in the process of making a small opening window for the Summer house - this is to go on the back wall to give through flow ventilation on hot days - I made the frame the other week-- I cut all rebates for glass and window frame to overlap frame on the outside last week - - Today was big day - worked myself up to make window frame - three sides done and found I was 10mm short on the widow frame - never mind I can reduce outer frame size - just one more piece of wood to cut - I cut the 45 deg cuts the wrong way and got no more wood - I have a off cut that I am now going to try and splice into the other piece and see if I can bodge it up - otherwise got to set up the bench saw and kit out on the lawn (dusty job) and rip down a spare piece of wood - Grrrr :mad::mad: --- Give me a roll of cable and box of cleats and I am like a pig in poo.

I hate woodworking :(

Fitted those outdoor GU10 spot lights, think it was 27 in total, hopefully we don't get planes thinking it's a runway lol, thenthen temp painted the WC.
