What "man jobs" have you done today?

Very nice.

Quick question that may save you some grief later on...or hopefully not.

Have you used the tapered waste pipe previously?

I plumbed mine into a tapered waste pipe and got the dreaded E3 a few times and worked out that fluff etc was clogging the filter in the tapered pipe, which I removed and have been problem free ever since.
The dryer waste pipe actually squeezed inside the tapered waste pipe - it is microscopic compared to a washing machine waste. So I've bodged that into the taper and put the washer into the upright pipe.

Fitted new tap on the bathroom basin as the current 10 year old one was leaking.

Nice easy job which as always earns me a few brownie points with the wife:D

That means I've had to either replace or repair pretty much every item that the original fitter did over the past 10 years:cry:

Team effort with my other half but now that we have carpet in it, we are ready to move into the loft room. We built the new bed, installed two velux blinds and two gash-looking ikea stick-on blackout blinds for the rear windows (that will be replaced with shutters!).

Tomorrow we will be dismantling the chest of drawers to drag up there. And deciding on a new wardrobe to buy!

It's the first sunday of the month so cut the grass.
All those years I spent digging up old grass -digging them over and taking out the chaffa grubs - raked -levelled -seeded -covered and they looked great - 2 years on they are all rubbish - so bad I have just given up on them -Will cut them first sunday of month or when I feel like it.
Absolute waste of time and I can wind the neighbour up when he asks when will I cut it I can say no idea - might leave it to grow wild - He has green thumb in and as soon as he comes back from golf he has to go out and mow it - Boss's orders because he went out and enjoyed himself,:)

Mate the stuff they sell round here I wouldn't take for free. People want money for their junk it's grim. Most things stink of weed too despite the advert saying smoke and pet free home hahahahaha
I got rid of my old washer and tumble drier (2 separate items). I listed them for free and someone had the cheek to ask if I could deliver it  .

Refitted a cupboard door that wasn't sitting right in the frame. Took the stops off and realigned them. Then filled the gaps ready for painting and put new latches on.

Also put some netting over the patches of lawn I'm trying to reseed to stop the blackbirds digging it all up.

I spent my weekend having fun in the loft! Adding more insulation - really not a fun job, with such a shallow pitched roof and over 45sqm to deal with. I was drenched by the end of it. Took about 5hrs or so.

I stupidly forgot to take a before picture.

Other side of the chimney on the southern wall. We have a big water tank in front of the chimney which meant it was awkward to get all the insulation down everywhere, but squeezed it in where I could.

Making progress, don't worry I flattened all the tufts and made sure there were no gaps.

More... From the other side of the chimney.

Don't worry that's not a power cable - it's a tv aerial cable. The black cable is a network cable for a camera.

That's good enough - I certainly hope it'll make a difference!

I haven't taken any more pictures from the other half of the loft as it's boarded, but had to go down the sides to add bits where the boarding didn't span to. Ideally I should clear the loft and redo it completely, I'd like to board more of the loft, but honestly, with such a low pitch I can't say I relish doing it.

Despite my PPE I still feel a bit itchy! :D I know it's psychological... but anyway, that's a job done. Not bad for under £80 really.
