What "man jobs" have you done today?

Chipping out 80 year old render and plaster... redoing and filling 100s of cracks, holes, gouges and dents.

I have so many cuts and scratches on my right hand i cant close it 'cos of scar tissue :) (over exaggeration)

All this needs to be done for wallpapering on Wednesday...

Gonna be a long 2 days.

Also finally finished painting the walls of my lads room after a stupid amount of coats (not impressed with Dulux trade at all, will not be using again). Just gloss on the skirting boards to go and I think that's it done.

I really like that :)
I see there is a cot in there, does that mean this was painted in prep for the arrival or is he already with you ?

We are expecting and I might pinch some of your ideas. room for our child isn't as big as that though :(

Already with us (10 months) due to planning permission issues with the council our extension was late so the little fella has missed out on a full on nursery hence why the room has been decorated slightly older. Cot will be going soon replaced by a small bed, another reason why it looks so open in there at the mo.

The worlds brightest bedroom. Good luck getting him to sleep during summer :D

(does look cool though!)
Haha, not an issue, both windows have blackout blinds so goes dark enough when needed.

Wow GSXR that's amazing, I'm sure I've said before but your lounge is incredible and that room is awesome  but from what I've heard Dulux isn't nice, we actually use Wilkinsons in rooms with Fired Earth.
Cheers, I still have my daughters room to do so will be avoiding Dulux.

Man job today... have a lie in :p

Yesterday was spent in the garden butchering up some cheap decking which turned into...

The stain is nothing like it looked on the tub lol

Any chance of some more pics of these, I'm liking the look of them a lot!

I'd like to see how you've constructed them so I don't have to do much thinking...lol

Today I completed the installation of 8 runs of ethernet cable into my loft, from my network cupboard on the ground floor.

I'm not going to connect it to my patch panel at this time and have left ~10m slack in the loft ready for when, if, I ever convert it into a habitable room.

I just need to plaster now.

Oh, I also smashed up a wooden filing cabinet, ready to take to the tip tomorrow. Very satisfying.

Nothing much today, but just fixed a slight blockage. I noticed my bath was not draining water fast enough as I showered, and I'd be standing in an inch or two of soapy water. Borrowed a plunger but didn't use it as it turns out that shining my phone torch down the plughole revealed soggy clumps of hair. Nice! Not a lot tbh, but I pulled it all out with an unravelled metal coathanger and screwdriver and it seems to have done the trick. :)

Finally finished the creeper off. How big? So far 4 ford focus loads and there's still one bag.. Cleared the other part of the guttering around the garage - it looks like it had never been done.

Given the number of rings on the stems it was ~20 years old.. possibly put in when the house was originally build in the 1989. As it had a massive root network it meant that any trimming resulted in being replaced within the month… far too agressive.

Kept the straight pieces, they're cut and drying in the garage - can make harry potter wands and broomsticks out of the stems.

Shower in the en suite has been cold for the last two weeks and had terrible pressure. Brainwave hit me before...turned it on so both hot and cold would be flowing, blocked the end with my hand...voila!
Pressure up. Hot water. Think must have been air locked.

Mrs is in England, so ripped up the awful hall way flooring

Scraping that stuff up is a proper bitch.

Getting there. Need some more boards (was using 2 leftover packs from the lounge) so will get some more today. Need to finish off in the doorways etc but also going to get some vinyl for that downstair toilet as well while I'm there.

Should be nice eventually.

Spent what seemed like an eternity drilling porcelain for the purpose made glass shelves in the alcove at the end of the bathroom, excuse potato phone.
