What "man jobs" have you done today?

I'll consider it - it's mostly a pee toilet vs. a poo toilet (if that makes any difference, lol).

One thing I need to solve is the IKEA waste pipe. I've just bodged it inside of the 40mm that comes from the floor. Is there a proper fitting?

Also..

On the stink pipe you can get a cap that accepts square or round downpipe, which will avoid the occasional drenching that that other downpipe produces when we have our usual Monsoon in one hour weather.

The vent will still be above the guttering.

Skived off and got the soil pipe and wastes sorted. Had to bodge the bath waste as it fouled the soil pipe (pun intended).

I'll be honest, I preferred the old setup.
Yup the old version had much more character. RIP small white section, you will be missed.

new waste section has the requisite fall ... or, the window location was problematic.

since it's been hot again - finally imagined a catch to allow window to be kept, at a reasonable jar (to be patented)

Since having a child, my garage has become a dumping ground rather than having my car in it. :( It's been accumulating since Autumn and I've never had a free Saturday to take everything out. It got to the where I couldn't even walk around in there to do anything so I've needed enough time and the right weather. No before picture, and still a lot more work to do. I also took the oppertunity to stick a load of unused stuff on Facebook.

Next step is to finish the outdoor socket, finish the flooring, and sort the shelves out.

Anyone know of any decent wall mounts for two or three bikes? I have one up, but I have my wife's bike as well as my pub bike to go up, plus the tantrum machine will no doubt have one soon.

I've got two of these in a tight space and they are really good for the price.

Check out their website for more options and uses.

Scrubbed a boat clean, washed a camper, replaced a roof light and then drove in 4 fence posts and replaced 2 fence panels. Been a busy couple
of days.

Did a tip run so smashed out the old toilet. Thank god that thing is gone! I've also got the bits I need to delete the old bathroom. I removed the waste pipe which left quite a hole, so I've used a house brick and did my first fill with some mortar repair.

Q --- how do I get the yellowy style render that matches the 1930s pebble dash? I end up with grey splodges otherwise!

State of the old room! Whilst it looks bad, I guess it is much simpler - I will overboard the external walls with insulated plasterboard, overboard the ceiling, throw down some 22mm chipboard, and then it is decorating/carpet.

Got the final green tiles up and the niche sorted - I still need to fill in the gap in the marble (left hand of niche) but that isn't much drama. I might use wood and continue the ledge, TBC.

I am ready to grout and final fix the glass door now...thank god.

Yep - top trick, divide the length of the level by 40 and that's what you need to pad out the level. Has a perfect drop and *just* clears the window.

plus the tantrum machine will no doubt have one soon.

Mix up some mans cement and do it that way.

I did feel a bit frail buying a just-add-water mortar repair bag for 11 quid lol. I just never use a full bag and it gets wasted!

Yeah it can be, but sealed up correctly, it'll probably be useful later.

Also, top tip when buying a niche - don't assume they are made to a sensible height. This thing is USELESS. Not even the smallest bottle I have can live there.
