What "man jobs" have you done today?

Seeing the logs and thinking, you must get some cracking spiders in there, reminds me yesterday, while fixing the 360 camera in place and big funnel web spider came out of its hole and tried to have a go at my hand :eek:
Now, I've met many of the wonders Columbia can produce, including the head job the Wanderer, but seeing this, while 3.5m up a ladder nearly gave me a bloody heart attack :cry:

Do you have the false widow there?
Ha ha

Sorry, no idea Me and spiders don't get on.

I run or they die, no idea what flavour they are :D

It more wasps hibernating over the winter you have to watch out for ... .

Did a bbq, had a few beers. Got the pruning tool out again.

Why the previous neighbours planted so many trees close together is beyond me. Needed a good trim.

Used this:

To prune a load of branches and remove the half dying hedge at the front of the house.

From the doorbell camera as I didn’t take photos.

One of the best tools I’ve bought. £116 on eBay with a code and brand new.

Need to think of something to do at the front instead, we are thinking a nice fence plus flower bed behind.
I was wondering what it was to be honest, imagine my relief when I read what you did with it.( my thinking wasn't in that direction):)

Are humidistats really the way to go with bathrooms? What if it's just to freshen the air after someone's used the toilet, presumably it wouldn't come on?

I'm open to them but normally install so the fan comes on with the lights on an overrun timer, but can also be turned off with a switch.

The reasoning is that as this ensuite is attached to the guest bedroom you don't want the fan running for +10 minutes after the light has been switched off because it would be damn annoying at bedtime. Instead it's set to turn the fan off after 1 minute of the light switching off unless the humidity exceed the setting you set then it won't turn off the fan until it's achieved the setting or lower. So in effect there's two delays.

If you find it doesn't work well, I am quite happy with my Hue plug and sensor. It comes on when someone goes in, if you hit the sensor (I've angled it to shower), but I also can configure it to a switch or HomeAssistant humidity sensor etc.

That sounds perfect, this ensuite is also attached to a guest room. How did you wire that, do you have any guidelines please?

Yeah I've had them dotted about for ages, never changed a battery. I have them in the hall, kitchen, WC, outside, and now the bathroom. Infinitely configurable (and most jobs done natively in the Hue app).

Cheers, I'll see how well this humidistat works and how long it lasts, they're not cheap at £42 each (Manrose 1361).

If you can't go with the solution @dlockers offers, the humidistat I used was the Manrose 1361 and you can get the technical blurb from their website https://www.manrose.co.uk/product/1361-remote-humidistat-control-and-timer/ (got mine from TLC Direct)

Oddly, what their wiring diagram doesn't show is the wires for the light:

However, that's simple enough, just take a live and neutral from the "switched live" and "mains neutral" terminals out to the light.

One tip I'd give is use 1 square mm cable if you can; I used 1.5mm as that's what I had a drum of and it's damn tight in the backbox that's provided, cramming in four 1.5mm T&E cables!

You can see why @dlockers solution may be easier :).
