What "man jobs" have you done today?

The big question is.... why did he leave those gaps in the first place?
I already said (twice) - plan was to get them first fixed like that, then boot them in with a rubber soled shoe.

They slide in much better like this on the full lengths as the next bit keeps it lined up. Unless you n00b mode and hold it down and hammer each individual plan.

I know right. In the grand scheme of things I have to balance my mental health/happiness with the other factors of time, energy, money. An extra month or two to take the pressure off is ok but over time, when the cost becomes "Could have paid someone else to do it", it rubs.

I know that ultimately my energy levels are the limiting factor here though.

Floor done (y). Wasn't half as bad, just my hands are battered. It's substantially nicer than the house floor and feels way harder wearing.

Paint, skirting - done. (Finish wiring, cladding, guttering, screwing roof sheets on)

What's the floor consist of? I've left about 3mm for the flooring in our garage workshop, wasn't sure if underlay was a thing for vinyl. Aiming for hard wearing over pleasant...

Sreten!
He's a legend.

It is an LVT tile with a rubber backing attached. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't spenny (£525 delivered for 21sqm).

Holy crap, that's an expensive sander at around £450!

The builder that fitted our kitchen basically bought it from wherever, used it, then asked for a refund. I'm sure building places are sick of that.

Worked a treat IIRC it was an evolution sander. Should have got one for doing the sand finishing of the walls in the rooms so I didn't need to reach down. You can get them for about 150-300 but 450 seems a bit steep.

Yeah, £450 is a bit steep but the going rate for a battery version it seems. However it's cheap compared to the Festool wired one at £1,300 , but that's just typical for Festool.

I'm considering a drywall sander as I've a number of ceilings to plaster once I've floored the loft and the cost of hiring a plasterer is going to run in to the thousands. I'd love to have a go at one to see how well I manage, it's the weight of the cheaper models with their large motors that's of concern.

Chaps, what's the tool called I need to knock these in? Obviously have a puller but on the diagonal it's really not ideal (just brute force).

Is there something super sticky that can lock on top?

Shouldn't those end pieces be slotted in flush and then tapped down to lock in rather than sliding? That's how the herringbone I installed worked. Otherwise you'll need a pull bar.

Not seen that system before. This one worked differently to the 50sqm I did in the house, you'd lay it like pictured then whack it with the pull bar and it'd click in.

This one needed the small edge in first then the side whacking.

All done now, looks better than the house.

Yeah it was pretty awful tbh, looked nice when down but a total nightmare to install. I had about 30% wastage because of damaged planks and misprints - the last piece I had to cut was literally the last piece and if I got it wrong I would have needed to buy yet another pack.

Damn that's a pain! I think I have one misprint I missed when doing the house. Annoyingly/luckily it's in the door threshold lol. Makes the 'no threshold look' a bit annoying because of it lol.

I'm a box and a half over again (same over order as house).
